“The Doll’s Song”
Patricia Janečková: “Les oiseaux dans la charmille” (Jacques Offenbach - Les contes d' Hoffmann) = “Birds in the Arbor,” but widely known as the Doll’s Song. In this performance, Patricia would have been about 17½ years old. Unfortunately, she died of breast cancer in October 2023 at the age of just 25. This is a challenging Operatic piece, which shows her great skill at such an early age.
