@Pesala Nice find. Definitely will add to watch list
Did you watch the series "The Terror" a couple of years back? Most of it was of course complete fiction but I found the depiction of the hardships of life aboard these vessels very interesting.

@Pathduck I prefer the red pill, though I do sometimes enjoy docudramas. The one on Gandhi was shown in the Thai Forest Monastery where I was staying at the time.

The saddest part is that it is targeted at the poor, who have the least disposable income, are the least able to cope with a large sum if they do win, and most likely to have a poor understanding of statistics and maths.

@Pesala It's a foul and despicable industry, especially the online gambling business. Thinking of how many lives have been ruined and families broken because of gambling addiction. And they say video games are dangerous and cause addiction... while these dirtbags giggle as money flows into their tax paradises.
I've seen a trend lately where the big online casinos try to brag about their "new credit limits" in ads, to pretend they actually care. As if that's going to stop an addict from just upping the limit every time they hit it...

The truth is stranger than fiction.
After humanity is long gone - probably by our own doing - fungi and insects will still rule until the Earth is swallowed by the sun.
Fun fact:
Humans inhale somewhere between 1,000 and 10 billion mold spores on an average dayAnd I just watched this:
Sakawa - An unbiased behind-the-scenes look at internet scamming in Ghana, where con artists cheat wealthy Westerners to escape poverty. Now I have a renewed respect for these young men (and women) tricking easy, dumb, horny and rich westerners for their money. Anyone foolish and gullible enough to fall for these scams deserve everything they get.
The irony of course, is that the young scammers are themselves being scammed out of their money by the older tricksters like witch doctors, shamans and other assorted charlatans - who have done this for thousands of years already, so have much more experience in the hustle:

I've been watching a couple of episodes of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
I can't actually remember if I've seen the original 1982 movie or not. But this is really good, dark fantasy with puppets - and absolutely not for little kids
