-
I the more I use Vivaldi the more I like it. I am at a loss with two things Chromecast and Proxy. Present vers 1.0.135.2 (Developer Build) snapshot, Ubuntu 14.04LTS I have chromecast installed it shows up in vivaldi://chrome/extensions , I can click on options and find "Available Cast devices" and "Tab casting quality" How do I Cast a tab? There is no Icon like in chrome to be seen anywhere??? Is there howto for setting a proxy ?

…Present vers 1.0.135.2 (Developer Build) snapshot...
I have chromecast installed it shows up in vivaldi://chrome/extensions , I can click on options and find "Available Cast devices" and "Tab casting quality" How do I Cast a tab? There is no Icon like in chrome to be seen anywhere???
If you haven't done so already, I would start by updating to Vivaldi TP3 (v1.0.162.4), just released a couple days ago. Then follow the Team Blog for weekly updates (usually on Mondays) and occasional mid-week updates.
I haven't tried ChromeCast, so I might not be able to help at all, but I notice a forum search for "chromecast" does not look promising at this time.
I imagine you already know that extensions are not yet fully supported in Vivaldi, especially those that need a control button on the Tool Bar (which it sounds like you normally see and use for your extension in Chrome). However, many extensions will work and can be managed from vivaldi://chrome/extensions, and in some cases will work partially or completely without their usual Tool Bar button.
From your description, it sounds like the extension you have installed is probably Google Cast from google.com. (correct ?) If so, I installed the same extension in my 32-bit Vivaldi on 32-bit Win7, and it at least appears to install OK. Are any "Available Cast devices" listed when you view the options? If not, do the No Cast devices found troubleshooting steps help any?
If it appears to be working properly (I'm assuming that includes displaying Available Cast devices), the only other thing I know to check is whether setting a shortcut key combination to "Activate the extension" for the Google Cast extension at vivaldi://chrome/extensions/configureCommands might work in lieu of a Tool Bar button.
I have only recently discovered these settings (which are displayed only for enabled extensions, not disabled ones). Most extensions I have checked display only the one option to "Activate the extension", but one extension I checked has 7 shortcut key options and a couple displayed no options at all. I haven't yet discovered whether setting a shortcut to "Activate the extension" will work as a keyboard shortcut in lieu of a Tool Bar control button for any extensions, but it seems a plausible hypothesis to me.
If none of the above works, you may be stuck at least until Vivaldi provides support for extension control buttons on the Tool Bar (or perhaps in the Address Bar field for some).
Is there howto for setting a proxy ?
There is not much yet available in the ways of guides/howtos for hardly anything, other than a few guides or evolving threads posted by various Vivaldi users in the forum.
If you know the basics of proxy setup and usage (I don't :P), have you tried Settings > Network > Proxy settings? Otherwise, maybe a forum search for "proxy" will provide some clues.

Vers 1.0.167.2 (Developer Build) dev is installed.
Look like I will have to wait for the extension control buttons on the Tool Bar.Proxy setting difficult since
Settings > Network > does not exist on the last few version
