"Ctrl + enter" removes the last entered letter
-
Hitting "ctrl+enter" is removing the last entered letter before doing what it's supposed to do.
Example:
- Type google
- Hit ctrl+enter
- It changes to googl.com and opens it (as google holds the domain googl.com it redirects to google homepage)
Entering vivaldi and hitting ctrl+enter takes you to vivald.com
This is happening after the upgrade to 1.14.1077.41
Note: This happens on disabling the "Address Auto-Complete" feature.

@gwen-dragon Hoping for a fix :).
You can delete this topic as it is already reported.
Thanks. -
Funny bug :D.

Had just posted about this at the new snapshot thread, I also get the clipped URL bug.
Funny enough it only happens with my current profile, a fresh installation didn't seem to suffer from this.I almost always do a fresh install when a new version comes out, this time I did not and BAM! My deepest fears came true.
Hey Vivaldi devs! This exactly why we need proper bookmark export maintaining nicknames, so that rebuilding a new profile (which apparently is a frequent need) is less of a hassle.
It is also why I advocate bookmark wildcards, since exporting/backing up search engines is also impossible. -
@duarte-framos A fresh installation has the "Address Auto-Complete" feature enabled - barring you from encountering this issue.

@duarte-framos said in "Ctrl + enter" removes the last entered letter:
rebuilding a new profile (which apparently is a frequent need)
this should never happen in the first place, it's a clumsy workaround due to bad management of the browser databases.

@ian-coog Regardless, a proper way to safeguard and/or retrieve your data and personalizations should always be a present.
And since the need manifests frequently it makes it even more pressing.Configuring search engines specifically is particularly tedious (minimized considerably by the latest updates to the UI) but the precarious way the are apparently saved troubles me a lot.

@ian-coog Yep, just saw the snapshot too. Hell yeah, many thanks Vivaldi devs!
