Opera Mobile Classic mysterious header
-
Why the X-EBO-UA: header is sent by Opera Mobile Classic ? The BCReq value change with every site and for the same site, every time the browser is closed and opened again... Undocumented, it look like a hash of a request but it can also be seen as a privacy infringement... Just received a quick reply from Opera Software staff :
This header is parsed by Bytemobile proxy when used in partnership with some ISP. "Not sure how widespread EBO currently is now though".Seems to be something designed like Opera Mini proxy, but provided to other browsers natively or via addons
Opera Mobile support this feature since 2006 : http://www.operasoftware.com/press/releases/desktop/bytemobile-and-opera-software-form-partnership-for-browser-optimization
Related "bytemobile" opera:config options allow to disable all proxy usage.
