Vivaldi in Tesla? (Forked discussion)

Right, here's my thoughts on the matter: Vivaldi coming to Tesla would make me (and probably countless other people) singlehandedly drop Vivaldi. I think that's all that needs to be said.
-
@GroupNebula563 Thank you for proving beyond any reasonable doubt how deluded Tesla-haters are.
So, in brief, if Vivaldi were to implement support for using its browser in Tesla, the best BEV in the world, that you would never buy, you would stop using the best browser in the world, which is free.

No, I wouldn't
Only if V would radically change its privacy statements. In this case, I would be forced to do so -

I agree, it will be a general technology in the future,
Two years on, and the future has arrived.
- Since January 2025 FSD (Unsupervised) has been driving vehicles from the end of the production line to the outbound vehicle lot in the Freemont Factory
- Since April 2025 FSD (Unsupervised) has been driving the Model Y and the Cybertruck from the end of the production line in the Austin Gigafactory to the outbound vehicle lot
- FSD (Supervised) has been driving in China facing all kinds of hazards not usually found in the US
- The Robotaxi Service is currently being tested by Tesla Staff in Austin, prior to its official roll-out in June.
If Vivaldi is taking the trouble to get installed in cars, but ignoring the biggest player by far, they are missing out on a potential customer-base of 7 million users worldwide.

@Catweazle Is this real?
-
-
@ThePfromtheO $TSLA is extremely volatile; one could cherry-pick the stock price for a short period to suit one’s agenda. Catweazle doesn’t even show the date of his chart.
Edit: This is the current trend, but it will change.Edit: It is best to zoom out to look at the long-term trend.
Tesla Robotaxi benefits from Trump's new self-driving rules
There should be one regulatory body for the whole country, not one for each state, which makes zero sense.
-
@Pesala OK, you are right.
However, I have reservations about Tesla due to the potential risks it presents to all road users. That's all. Not political opinions or something -

Maybe not, just the usual prejudice based on insufficient knowledge of the subject. Listen to those who have a broad experience of Autonomous driving systems.
Comparing Tesla FSD in early 2023 to what it is now makes no sense at all. Critical interventions are now extremely rare.

Not the best moment for Vivaldi for Tesla, but with one of the biggest VAG, apart of Mercedes, Renault, Volvo, Polestar....... -
I'll never support musk. He doesn't care for Earth, we have 8B people and he still says we need more.
Top 1% rich emit most carbon and they are still supported by Capitalists and money minded people.
Many support AI shouldn't be included in vivaldi, but still support even more vulnerable Tesla FSD.
Vivaldi doesn't support big tech surveillance , while Twitter CEO does.
Edit later : depends on how far your consciousness goes , care for broader perspective or smaller facts.
Care for Earth or something/somebody else.

You’re still living in the past. That article is from January 28th 2023.

Population collapse is real. It will destroy advanced societies. People live longer, and the aged are cared for by a dwindling population of young workers.

BEVs emit much less CO2 and toxic emissions than ICE or Hybrid vehicles (which are also ICE vehicles).
There is an option to disable vehicle tracking in Teslas. The data is used to improve FSD and Supercharger locations, not to spy on you.
-
Musk will never agree to have vivaldi, will ask for many money benefits.
-
@3dvs I don’t have a Tesla, so I have no idea what code it uses for its browser. I heard that it was poor (according to Elon), but that was many years ago.
Partnerships need to bring benefits to both parties to make them work.
Edit: “Tesla vehicles use a Chromium-based browser for their in-car web browsing experience. Chromium is an open-source project that serves as the foundation for Google Chrome and other browsers. Tesla adopted Chromium to improve the performance and stability of their in-car browsers, which were previously slow and limited in functionality. This shift was noted in updates around 2019, with Elon Musk confirming the transition to Chromium to enhance the browsing experience in Tesla's electric vehicles.
The browser is integrated into the vehicle's central touchscreen and supports web-based applications and services, though it has limitations, such as restricted microphone access and a basic bookmark system. Specific details about the exact version or custom modifications to the Chromium codebase are not publicly disclosed, as Tesla's browser is part of their proprietary firmware, built on a custom Linux-based operating system.” (Grok 3)

Did you take into consideration the amount of toxic emissions released when producing batteries for BEVs?

This emission is produced only during its production, while a gasoline or even worse a diesel car emits it during its entire useful life.

@barbudo2005 That's true
