Online Meetings and Camera Failure ?
-
The prompt to click the camera icon on the Address Bar sounds like something meant for the desktop version.
Do you view the page as a desktop or mobile site? Does switching it change anything (main Vivaldi menu > Desktop/Mobile site)?I don't have high hopes for it, but you could also try joining from a Private Tab to test Teams and Zoom, just to see if the experience is different there.

I tired a private tab, the same issue. There is no camera icon in the address bar as Teams claims there should be, it does show once for a few seconds then disappears. The issue is, the popup telling me to grant access to the camera doesn't allow me to click that camera icon.
Is Android blocking any other browser but Google Chrome from accessing the tablet camera and audio ? How come Vivaldi cannot just bypass this. I had identical issue with Microsoft Edge but I'm going to investigate this as well but I'd like to know why this is occurring with Vivaldi ?

While you have the Teams page open, tap on the shield icon on the left side of the Address Bar and select Permissions. What does it say for the Camera and Microphone there?

The camera and the microphone are both enabled when checking the permissions after tapping on the shield icon.

@Sparrows
Alright, thanks for double-checking.
In the same "shield" menu, go to Cookies and Site Data and tap on the trash can icon next to "## MB stored data". After reloading the page, are you able to join a call with camera and mic? -
@jane-n I tried exactly as you suggested the pop - up still occurs informing me that I need to turn on my camera by clicking on the camera icon in the address bar.
-
@Sparrows same issue, pls help slove
-
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Have you had any luck with Teams and Zoom?
If not, did you ever try switching between desktop and mobile view from the browser's main menu > Desktop Site?
-
Just tried a Zoom meeting via Mac OS Vivaldi and it did not work, had to abort mission and use another browser. Looks like this area could use some work?
Error message on Zoom:
"Oops! Something went wrong. Please close all browsers and rejoin the meeting."

On desktop you can test with a Guest Profile (https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tabs/guest-view/) or a new User Profile (https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/user-profiles/) to see whether some extension or setting in the main profile is causing the issue.

@jane-n I tried this and it is not working, I constantly get the above mentioned error message on a black screen. I tried w/ an actual Zoom. The others could see me, however, I did not see them or myself on the Zoom screen. I had to open the Zoom link in a different browser to join the meeting and have it work properly.

I'm seeing similar issues with the desktop browser - Vivaldi 7.2.3621.67. When I try to log in to a Zoom meeting, I get a pop-up asking to enable the camera and microphone. I proceed with allowing both, allowing third-party cookies, and making sure that there is no blocking or tracking turned on . . . the pop-up remains in the middle of the screen and will not go away - this prevents access to the meeting. I've had to use Edge to work around this - no issues there.
Follow-up: Going in to site permissions and 1) turning on "allow" for the microphone, and toggling "allow" for the camera (it was already on allow) . . . and refreshing several times, finally got everything working. Something is not quite right with how Vivaldi is handling Zoom meetings and site permissions.

@eroselle This is vivaldi desktop. I'm speaking for mobile as you know. Here is a link to the issue. I'm in need of this very soon.

@lorask Does Vidaldi when attempting with Microsoft Teams and it can't get the camera or microphone working look identical to this; https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/827816

@Sparrows I am not sure, i did not have the forsight to take a screenshot as I was in a panic mode trying to participate in an actual meeting. I am nervous to try Vivaldi again for Zoom meetings again.

I was able to get the camera to work when using Microsoft Teams but not the microphone ?
On the other hand Zoom gives me this error when trying to get the camera or microphone to work.

I've been experiencing a similar issue with Google Meet.
In my case, Vivaldi will only allow the site to request one resource at a time - so
What happens:
- I log into a google meeting
- I get a popup asking for permission to allow access to my mic
- I get no further popups (therefore my webcam is not working)
What I expect to happen:
- I log into a google meeting
- I get a popup asking for permission to allow access to my mic
- I Allow mic access
- I get a popup asking for permission to allow access to my webcam
- I Allow webcam access
[ - I get a popup for any other resource the site is requesting, and allow or deny ]
My workaround:
- log in once, allow the first resource (permanently)
- reload the page, log in again
- allow the second resource (permanently)
This is not ideal, since I can't then allow access to the resources on a per view basis, it's all or nothing but hopefully it helps anyone urgently needing to get into a meeting!
