A new Amazon Alexa product not only has the ability to have its microphone always on and listening for its cue, but also a 24/7 screen that displays family photos uploaded to Amazon, your music history, TV suggestions, diversity videos, breaking news, weather alerts, and much much more. In fact, you can have a video call with friends and family - just be sure to turn on “Follow Mode” where the built in camera will track your movements and turn the screen to face you, so that whoever you’re talking to will never lose track of you as you move around your private living area. As always, Alexa respects your privacy and she
never uploads data to Amazontreats any uploaded data with an Amazon-level of respect.Meanwhile, a still-active Amazon project is dedicated to tracking user’s browsing histories via malicious extensions and selling aggregated data for SEO and other purposes. Maybe ‘Alexa’ is code name for “user tracking” at Amazon?
No, I did not make any of this up, and yes, I have met someone who uses this.

A TV ?
Yes, it is an Alexa with a screen, which can be used for video meetings and playing videos. Including political videos that Amazon suggests for you.
And, conveniently, it has a camera.
So The screen will turn to follow your movements.
And it displays endless ‘content’
So you don’t have to think. To improve the ease of everyday life. -
@pesala Ah yes. Amazon (and Googleand Facebook and Schools)
neverrarely do anything illegal, so we’re all -
@tbgbe Do any of your suggestions respond to voice commands or turn so they are always in view?

I can respond to voice commands (turn it up/turn it down) and more importantly -
TURN IT OFF!I can turn so that the TV is in view.
-
@code3 , as a complement it comes with cameras for each room, to archive your habits, it's to improve the user experience, I think.

@pathduck I felt really stupid because I saw this:
The user's going to pick dancing pigs

And didn’t know what I was missing. Maybe you could use a quote block instead of a code block?
-
@tbgbe Your suggestions require too much manual labor.
@Catweazle Not free, but I’m sure there are discounts on the next ones, allowing you to have a regular Alexa, Ring Camera, security camera, plus another touchscreen Alexa in the bedroom and kitchen for convenience.

This reminds me of the Telescreen in 1984... be careful not to commit thoughtcrime!
