Do you want to change to Mac OS from Win10?

Affinity Designer
@Poto ,Thanks for introducing me to this software.
-
@Poto , wheels for Mac Pro are very cheap
-
@Gwen-Dragon , no, but they hold up to 400 km/h, pushing the Mac downhill
-
@Gwen-Dragon You mean platinum and diamonds for shareholders, don't you?

My desktop PC complete with monitor, USB flash drive, and Windows cost £615.81 in 2013, which is less than an iPhone. I am still using it now.
-
It seems that the high-end laptops that some articles advocate, MacBook is about the same price than PC, or even cheaper is a one-sided statement
But I have seen many videos, people are using MacBook series products, if Apple's products are expensive, why do they still choose Apple's products instead of other competing products?
Is Apple's M1 chip likely to open up competition, making PC and Mac products incomparable? The emergence of M1 seems to push Apple computers to new heights, mainly in terms of performance. The specific usage scenarios will not be discussed first.
-
@Catweazle Humorous joke, I understand what you mean. Although I also think that Apple's products are very expensive.
I was just out of curiosity, and I thought it was necessary to try a Mac. I didn’t think about it from my actual needs. I just think the ID design of the Mac is great, and its touchpad is very charming.

I've seen articles pointing out that the iMac is more cost effective than an assembled PC of equivalent configuration.
This is true of course in some situations, but in many cases, the hardware configurations chosen as options for iMacs / Mac Pro, are not something you would choose if given the option of building your own PC.
Right now, for example, AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPUs and Nvidia RTX 30 Series graphics cards are some of the best options to choose right now for a consumer, but you will never find either in any configuration Apple offers.
Part of the reason the new Apple M1 chip computers are a thing is because Apple has been dedicated to using Intel CPUs and AMD GPUs which have been stagnant in the past few years (although this generation of AMD GPUs is better competition to Nvidia than years past).
And there are also quite a few articles comparing Mac devices to their PC counterparts and finding that Mac devices are not that expensive in the long run.
For this I am guessing it has to do with resale value? otherwise, I am skeptical. I have noticed that many 3rd party small utility programs on Apple systems are paid while equivilant options on Windows systems / Linux systems are free. I use a fair number of utilities like Microsoft Power Toys, T-clock, and AutoHotkey, so for my situation, I could see using an Apple device as more expensive in the long run.
All this is not to say that I am unexcited by Apple's development of the M1 ARM chip for more traditional computers. ARM processors are a great choice for portable devices with their power efficient designs. I hope to see more software developers optimizing their programs to run natively on ARM devices, rather than through compatibility layers. Apple is the company to help push this change.
I have had my eye on used/refurbished Microsoft's Surface Pro X tablets that also use an ARM processor, but I have held off because of difficulty with program compatibility. Hopefully Windows on ARM can gain some benefits from Apple's influence on software development. And maybe Microsoft will finally focus on getting a compatibility layer for 64 bit programs.
I am excited to see how this develops, and see Intel's and AMD's response as more and more portable devices will be going to ARM. Intel already has a CPU with a mix of power efficient and higher performance cores in the works, so even x86 devices could get better as a result.
Exciting times

On a computer I want to spend the money on performance, not design. Yes, Apple products are pretty, no doubt, but this design pays off. Apple's hardware is too tight for my liking, leaving little room for the user for modifications, also as mentioned, applications that are free, on Mac they are paid.

You can't play vidya games on Mac, can you?
-
I've previously used macs... I still have a white laptop from 2008 running Linux Mint 17.3.
Their hardware is well made but still overpriced. For me, I just can't tolerate their OSs.
They ran (possibly still run) FreeBSD or was it OpenBSD in the background yet have contributed nothing back to the project. (uname -- something used to tell the user.)All in all, not viable for me. I'd rather use Windows or Linux.

@Steffie How could you change to macOS from Win10? It puzzles me . Is Arch a special Win10 version?
-
@hlehyaric Cheeky! The whole premise of the question is of course bollocks... as if one's choice is only those two things. Humpfh!

@LongLife I don't play games, games are boring. I don't understand why people play games that are always repeated. In my opinion, the game is an endless loop of various repetitions, and only the combination of these permutations is triggered by the player.
So I don’t play games, I hope I can focus on real life instead of virtual world
-
@Poto I also have zero interest in gaming, ugh i simply don't see the point. However, IMO

...is greatly overrated.

Although the pricing of the official upgrade configuration is too high, I am opposed to the replacement of the PC configuration. It is difficult to sell the upgraded SSD or memory because their capacity is relatively small, which is a waste

@Steffie Real life means that I want me to enjoy the scenery, the company of interesting girls, etc., instead of being addicted to the screen and a bunch of boring tricks. I don’t like games, videos (entertainment industry, such as movies, animation, and YouTube Video), the virtual world is very easy addictive
I used to play games, I used to spend a lot of time watching videos, I was addicted to it, and then I found out, what is the point of doing this? Pointless! The game is just an endless loop, and I can’t recall it after watching the video, so I think about why I’m addicted to it, and what is the meaning of these virtual things to me? Obviously it doesn’t make sense. If I want to have fun, then the best choice for me is to sleep.
I think that life is sleep, diet and exercise. This is my bottom line and it must not be violated. The virtual world will break this balance. It is difficult for me to guarantee that even if I have this knowledge, I will not be addicted. So the best way is to physically isolate them, and you won’t be addicted if you don’t touch them.
to sum up:
Entertainment in the virtual world is very boring and meaningless, for me.I used to be addicted to the virtual world, when I realized that this was a chronic suicide for me, it was not a healthy interest. Tech giants usually don't allow their children to have access to technology products, just as drug dealers don't take drugs themselves. I can’t guarantee that I won’t be addicted again, so I choose to physically isolate the entertainment in the virtual world, and try to make myself a tool to accomplish my own goals by taking customer food as a tool, instead of relying on technology products and indulging in the virtual world.
