Which is your favorite Android Mobile Browser? Why?
-
There are many good browsers for Android Mobile. Some of them are - Android Stock Browser Boat Browser Pro Chrome Mobile Browser Dolphin Browser Firefox Mobile Browser Maxthon Mobile Browser Mercury Browser Opera Mobile Browser UC Browser and many others. According to you, which is the best browser for Android 4.0+(ICS, JB & KK), and why?
-
Next Browser for my phone. Simple layout which I like for small screen. I can choose DuckDuckGo as default search engine, an important point. Love the way it deals with tabs very much like webOS cards.
Dolphin Browser for tablets. Full featured, I can select DDG as my default search. Decent UI.

Opera Mini! It definitely helps me save a ton of data. I only have 100MBs for a data plan but I hardly go over 50MB after browsing Facebook, G+, Twitter, Reddit and etc.. :woohoo:
-
Firefox Mobile for now. I like and dislike it at the same time. Yet it currently works better for me than Chrome or Opera Mobile while still getting regular updates.
-
I prefer Chrome because it is slightly more functional for my usage pattern. It seems to work better on HTML5 sites than the rest. Some times Opera Mobile works better, but not often enough to change my default.
-
Opera classic… because it does not drain the battery that much, it allows me to use my custom urlfilter and userstyles - especially handy on mobile.
And when i'm on the road opera mini because i can underclock my htc cpu to 300MHz and still get pretty smooth browsing with dramatically increased battery life...
-
Firefox mobile for now. And chrome. But i want vivaldi for android, with sinc!
-
Opera Classic and Operamini.
I use also Boat browser in the rare cases the above two have compatibility problems.
-
firefox mobile, beacause he displays the web pages better than others browsers

Opera, Opera Beta, Opera Mini, Opera Mini Beta have the best UI. They're great for general browsing, especially when you want to do one-handed browsing. It's UI makes it convenient for that.
Chrome, Chrome Beta, Chrome Dev and so on are the smoothest browsers. They have the smoothest scrolling and UI experience. The UI is responsive and Material Design, and you feel like you're using a high-end browser.
Firefox . . . I tried it for a few minutes. It was so terrible that I uninstalled it as fast as I could. It's pages didn't render properly, it was laggy, it wasn't faster than any other browser and didn't really have much if anything to offer over other browsers.
Javelin was a cool concept when I tried it a few months ago. It was my second browser experience after Chrome. It's UI is kind of neat and aesthetically pleasing, though I wish they had a classic version like Opera. But the browser itself wasn't smooth like Chrome, so I uninstalled it. I couldn't get used to the stuttery navigation after Chrome's buttery smooth browsing.
Polarity was probably the fastest Android browser I've ever tried. Not amazing UI like Opera's is, but it's super fast. It loads pages faster than any other browser, especially pictures. Though typing in it lagged my keyboard a bit compared to Chrome and Opera.
So far Maxthon is looking pretty good. I'm still testing it out and I'm liking it so far.
That's my short experience with Android browsers so far. I haven't really tried many other browsers. Right now, I'm using Opera Beta, but sometimes I bounce between that and Chrome Dev.
I can't wait until Vivaldi comes over to Android. Here's what I want from Vivaldi Mobile: Buttery smooth scrolling/navigation/UI like Chrome/Safari, UI similar to Opera(innovate, make your own that you think would be better), with pretty aesthetics/Material Design-ish, sync, turbo/data compression, ad blocking, flash disabling, color theme like desktop version, lots of customization and features. I totally can't wait!

@ALongTime:
Opera: This was the first one I tried, it seemed like the obvious choice because while they ruined their desktop browser, I figured maybe they haven't totally ruined their mobile browser given that it's more their focus. To its credit, it has a nice UI, probably the best out of the ones I've tried; navigating sites and switching tabs is very fast and intuitive, everything displays well… but then it came to trying to switch the search engine to DuckDuckGo and installing adblocking, and it doesn't seem like you can do either of those things, maybe I'm wrong? The adblocking thing doesn't bother me so much, but not being able to use my search engine of choice really affects my workflow, I don't want to use Google search. So reluctantly I had to keep searching...
Opera on Android never allowed you to change the default search engine. It did always reset back to Google, even with Opera Classic and the old Opera Mini.
But yeah, browsers which allow you to use a search engine of your choice are scarce on mobile platforms. This something that calls for EU regulators to step in. Remember when Opera ASA forced Microsoft to implement a bowser selection screen? Now it's time for a search engine selection screen on the leading mobile operating system.

You should take a look to Habit browser. IMO the actual android browser that shares more philosophy with the good old Opera 12.
Naked browser is also very handy, although it's very spartan look, which name it.

I never heard of Habit Browser, so I decided to try it . . .
Holy s#!t! It's actually amazing! Tried many browsers on Android. Not one ever came near having a good browsing experience quite like a desktop browser does. That's why I've always hated browsing on a phone.
Never tried old Opera 12 on Android, and I've tried getting old Opera mobile on my phone before but I guess it doesn't work with Marshmallow. If old Opera was a lot like Habit, then I hope that Vivaldi will be just like the 2 of them when it hits Android, and will actually be a really good mobile browsing experience!

Opera mobile "classic" works very well with Lollipop and Marsh mellow, you just need the update version (yes there is one, incredibly)
Anyway Opera Mobile classic is very different from Habit. The former is "just" a very good mobile browser, it has still the best functionality for a good mobile experience although it started to have some compatibility issues, just like it's desktop counterpart.
On the other hand Habit resembles Opera desktop because it's customizability, because the per site stetting and so on.

@yellowfour:
back to Opera Mobile Classic*. it still has the best rendering and resizing.
I believe you missed something.
Yes opera has likely the best text reflowing ability, even today. But I believe you are looking to the latest Android environment.
Well android, until Jelly bean 4.3 had a very good text reflowing ability, and any android browser was able to use it.
Starting from KK 4.4, with one of the most idiotic move ever. google replaced the android native rendering with the chrome one.
Which is obviously not well suited for a good mobile experience like the android counterpart.
In short. just use JB 4.3 or you will be limited to browsers that completely replaces the stock rendering engine, to get a good mobile experience: Opera (old and new), dolphin + jetpack, and few others

Where can I find this updated Opera Mobile Classic? I've looked and nothing works on Marshmallow.
And I still use Habit today. Man, it's the only decent mobile browser I can tolerate right now. It's pretty damn good. Which is better, Opera Mobile Classic or Habit?

I got the update trough the store, after I rebooted in LP or MM (I have multiple OS on my droid 4, from ICS to MM)

They are very different, I use both of them depending the website I have to visit.
If you never tested Operamobile you can do it on your PC (it is a well worth browser, even on x86, especially for use on HTPCs, tablets and other uncommon scenarios where a fully fledged desktop browser is more annoying than helpful)

I'm surprised to see that neither Yandex nor Brave have been mentioned by anyone! I have actually begun using these the most on Android.
-
Mainly firefox; I like yandex alpha too - which support (some) extensions... but can't be used daily yet.. it's an alpha after all.
-
For mobile I use chrome, actually, for the integration with the desktop app. I'm still migrating to Vivaldi, so it may take a while to make the complete shift.
