@Dr-Flay , I once had a similar problem with Dark Messiah (XP, only XP) where it took me several months to get a patch to make it work on Windows7, however on Win10 it works without any problem, no patch. (Win XP = Win10?

https://www.gameloft.com/en/gamesThese are just "Free 2 Play" games, which means they have in-app purchases, and often you'll find it very difficult to make progress without spending real money (not that it's impossible - it's just very hard and/or time-consuming)... Technically, F2P is nowhere near to a "freebie" nor a "giveaway".
I mean, it's your thread and I've subscribed to it because I love the idea, but personally, I wouldn't put that one here. Or at least I'd mention that they're not freebies - they're just regular F2P games with in-app purchases.

@pafflick , Windows usually has some Gameloft games by default, but I usually uninstall them directly. Not because they are bad games or pay2win, but because they have the annoying habit of opening the browser and invariably take you to the Gameloft page at the end of the game. They are bundleware.
Not all Free2play games are also Pay2Win, a good example is the magnificent RPG Old School Eternium (also in the Windows Store and in Google Play). It has like others also in-game purchases, but these do not give you great advantages as they are mainly cosmetic, they are not needed to progress normally in the game. -
