@lamarca It seems to be an (still) unsolved bug in the Profile display. When updating the name you can enter intl. chars (for ex. ö or ō) and these are translated to HTML entities. However on Profile display the translated name is taken as is and that's why you see things like (ö or ō) instead of the real name.
