Install Opera M2

I also had problem installing the .deb or .rpm packages because of dependencies, but lately I downloaded the .tar.bz2 package from here and it works without any installation. I just unpack it in a directory and run 'opera' executable. Currently I am using it on my Fedora 29 and also on CentOS 7, although I didn't try Ubuntu.

Well, @sgunhouse is a Soprano so, M2 would be already replaced with M3, but Wine would work if needs to access it.

The thread was originally split from another, and it appears like half the posts on the first page have been deleted.

But as far as it goes, as a tester for Opera at the time I actually have a pre-release version of Opera Mail for Linux that somehow never made it to "prime time". Obviously won't be any better than 12.16 of Presto though, so only really of historical interest.

Some people do. Not me, but I know a few people who have it set up just the way they like it and still use it - when possible. Obviously for most secure sites and some media sites they will have to use a current browser, but there's even a few who didn't like some of the changes in 12 and thus still use 11.

@CWM030 Even if I tried, it doesn't work on many websites nowadays anyway. I use it only for email and for downloading some files (like streamable media files, since - unlike Chromium - it allows you to play these media while it's still being downloaded).
