Christiane Singer - Où cours-tu? Ne sais-tu pas que le ciel est en toi? (Where are you running? Don't you know that the heaven is in you?)

@Quinca71 Yes, the title speaks for itself. I just started the book and it's quite well written, deep and inspiring.

@MoonDawg I tried to find the translated English version of it before posting but... it seems it only exists in French.
Perhaps a good occasion for you to learn French? :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye: -
Empire from the Ashes, by David Weber. Read the first book (Mutineer's Moon) a few days ago, then found this compilation. Actually only on the second "book" yet.

Convenience Store Woman (english translation) by Sayaka Murata
This isn't the kind of book I normally read, but I really liked it. Try new things. It's fun.
Spoileries
Though our protag, Furukura, would certainly contest that last remark.
The story of a sociopath (borderline psychopath maybe) dealing with society is interesting. Though it is told from a Japanese perspective I would wager the experiences our protagonist deals with would be common throughout the world.
I would even go so far as to say that japan's (from what I hear) excessive work culture actually benefits someone in her position. Whether that is a good thing or not is another matter. The traditionalism (again, I have only anecdotal knowledge of this) of a massive hindrance to someone in Furukura's position.
I half expected it to end with one of the characters going on a murderous rampage, but the more subdued ending that actually was in the book is neater and nicer, if a little unsatisfying. Though that is kind of the point, I guess. It's a short book, but brings a lot to think about.
