What are you listening to right now?
-
Linton Kwesi Johnson - Five Nights Of Bleeding
-
@moondawg If you are into Dark Ambient I do have plenty of stuff waiting to be heard. I am used to listen to that during the day when I need to work.
-
-
@kahukura Never heard about Dark Ambient, so I performed a search and found some well known names, such as Throbbing Gristle, Popol Vuh, Cabaret Voltaire .....
-
Throbbing Gristle are more early Industrial Music. There's more to discover here.
Dark Ambient however has lengthy passages of music that may well be hidden in the dark. Samples are shown below, enjoy.
Desiderii Marginis - The Monkey God
Robert Rich & Lustmord - Synergistic Perceptions
Raison d'etre - Without the Shedding there is no Forgiveness
Atrium Carceri - A Place to Call Home -
@kahukura Thank you for the links.
All the bands are new for me. I also noticed all their debut albums were release in the late 90's.
It's quite obvious our generation is different. However it does not affect the way we enjoy the music.
Two old school bands:Section 25 - Looking From a Hilltop
The Durutti Column - Sketch for SummerEnjoy
-
@lamarca I do know the Durutti Column from Songs for Pauline which are pretty good. Thanks for your suggestions, like them.
-
@kahukura Glad to know. Durutti or Durruti?
Perhaps you already know The Durutti Column was an anti fascist group in the Spanish Civil War. See Buonaventura Durruti, just in case.
I will listen to your suggestion later and let you know. -
@lamarca It is as I have written Durutti Column for the Band.
-
Good old Blues
-
@kahukura Oh well .... I am not good at words, my english comes from technical manual, users guide.
The writting of Buonaventura surname is controversial: Durutti or Durruti?Really good the Human Tetris intro, the strong bass player. There are some references in the song.
*Short Stories for Pauline" is not easy listening. For me, 8 out of 10 songs are instrumental
-
@lamarca It depends. I listen to a lot of strange stuff as long as it has some melody string. If you like instrumental stuff. Robert Rich might be a good source.
Robert Rich - Perpetual. A Somnium Continuum
8 hours so a mans workday is covered.
-
@catweazle Try Snowy White - Riding the Blues (not just for the visuals)

Interesting. Brian Eno composed many pieces like this one.
