REISUB.

Here's one that would presumably baffle the Windowistas. REISUB. What are your favourite mnemonics for remembering it? Though Reboot Even If System Utterly Broken is probably slightly more technically relevant, it never fired my imagination, so i like & use the much more fantastical Raising Elephants Is So Utterly Boring. What are your preferences? Do you find a need to apply REISUB rarely/never, occasionally, or more frequently than you'd like? What are the circumstances in which you found the need for REISUB arose... random, or a distinct cause - effect? Do you think your specific Distro &/or DE / WM are factors? What about kernels? When you do unfortunately need to REISUB, do you have to get all the way through, or does your system come alive again prior to the "B"? For me, most of the time i have had to get all the way through, but once [maybe twice] to my surprise, at "U" it came good again, avoiding the reboot. Bonus Question: Have any of you developed genetic mutations of your hands [or dislocated shoulders] to more comfortably span the keyboard distance between Alt, SysRq & REISUB ? ....................................................................................... My on-SSD OS = Linux Mint x64 17.3 KDE 4.14.2. .......................................................................................

For Windows, ever since V3.1, I use TIOTIO (turn it off/turn it on) :woohoo:
No monitoring of individual process stages required.Works with Linux LiveDVD as well
