What browser do you use on Android?
-
Apart from the default browser in Android there are alternatives: Opera, Dolphin, Firefox, etc. What is your favourite and why?

AngiesDOM: Thanks for your reply. I am finally buying a cheap Android tablet, although I mainly use a desktop PC or laptop, and I am very interested in other people's views on browsers.
I will probably try several but am inclined to favour Firefox from my experience on other platforms. Advert blocking and Flash are important to me and I believe Firefox performs well in these areas. However, some people say that overall performance is slow compared to other browsers on Android. What do you think?

Recently tried Sleipnir for Android … looks pretty good. Fit to width, drag left/right to change tabs, gestures ...

operamini or UC browser when operamini bugs or is too slow

After using Opera Classic and Opera Mini for very long time, I end up using Chrome only because it has great synchronization features. What ever I do on one device, I can continue it on another. Bookmarks, open pages, history, passwords etc. are all shared and synchronized.
It is a pity Opera stopped supporting Opera Link on their latest browsers. It is maybe changed now, but I just had no time and interest to wait for it to become supported again.

Welcome Sami!
Opera 19 does include Sync, but it is disabled by default, and only syncs speed dial - almost not worth the trouble.
Edit: Opera 19 for Desktop, didn't look which forum I was in. No sign of it in Android yet …

Moreover, I need to have one version for Linux. I suppose Opera still is lacking new versions for Linux operating systems. On Chrome I can have them all: one for Linux, one for Windows, and one for Android. Only problem is that Chrome does not scale pages so nicely as Opera did, and is much more slower than Opera.

Opera Classic still exists on all three of those, but hasn't been updated in almost a year …

I use Firefox Beta and Firefox Aurora and like them fine. They might not be the fastest ones on Android, but if you have recent hardware, they will run fine. The sync with desktop works well, I like how it saves webpages as pdf's, and "Reading List" is nice.
"Reading List" saves articles for reading later and can strip all the webpage clutter away. It's a fave of mine.

I have now tested Opera, Firefox Beta and Dolphin. The Firefox user interface is very poor, Opera is better but Dolphin stands out as the best. Everything is beautifully designed and intuitive and it includes features lacking in the other two. Dolphin developers really seem to listen to their users.

I use Opera, and Opera mini on my Moto G. And it's really awesome.
I've already tried out lots of other browsers like Maxthon Cloud Browser and i came back to Opera. Now i only install a browser if it's for testing a site on it. Firefox has became a huge fatty consuming lots of ram and eating up my smartphone.
For me nothing beats Opera yet, and i'll stick with it if nothing else comes.

A while ago I answered in a similar thread that I use mobile Firefox. I've switched back to mobile Chrome since then. The speed difference when rendering pages was just too big to ignore for me. Plus, I found the mobile Firefox UI too cluttered so that it felt counter-intuitive to use. Maybe I'll try again with a future Firefox update.

On older Android, 2.3 in my case, Opera Mobile 12 (Classic) is still unbeatable. No competition in sight.

Chrome desktop and Android because of good sync. Also I find Atlas super fast and use it a lot. Like the Atlas UI. I have Opera Mobile but don't use it much

Mobile Classic does not work on Lollipop, nor does it handle HD devices. I do use Opera for Android on my Nexus 7 … at least until they start working on Vivaldi for Android.

For the record Opera Classic was recently updated and works perfectly on Lollipop and Marshmellow.
