Problem 1: I'm looking for a Linux Distro/Speedy DE that works best w/ Krita 3.x... I know they like KDE; but I need it or something else to work w/ a i5 & Intel HD Graphics 2500. Problem 2: I will be switching to Linux (full time) from W7pro X64 NOTE: I've installed Puppy on very old pc & Xubuntu on a old laptop for a friend; both cases was more than I could have hoped for What is your thoughts on appImage?

Problem is no matter which Distro or WM/DE you run you have to install all the qt and kde depencies krita need. I think some lxqt based distro is a good chiose to try.For example manjaro lxqt 16.05

#1 I don't know krita but you don't need the KDE to use a QT based program.
You need the right version of the QT installed
#2 I suggest Manjaro XFCE, it's light, fast, easy to install and has a nice look.
Being Arch based it inherits all the superior features of Arch minus the hard installation part.To start with, it draws just what's strictly needed to use a definite program, not an endless list of dependencies like other distros do.

I think Solus would be a good choice.
https://solus-project.com/BTW Solus 1.2.1 was released today.
The Solus project is proud to announce the availability of Solus 1.2.1, delivered in the form of our main edition, which provides an unrivaled Budgie experience, as well as a new and welcomed addition to the Solus family, Solus 1.2.1 MATE edition. While Solus 1.2.1 is the first release to have a new addition, it is also the last of our traditional releases as we shift towards the ISO snapshot model, which better reflects our agility and iteration speed.

I like what was stated on the about Solus page!
Good Review for Solus 1.2 by Chris Were on YouTube (good honest reviews)Will Krita3.x, DarkTable, Inkscape, Blender 3D, Scribus, Shotcut, LibreOffice, BlueFish (Code Editor) work on Solus without pulling out any more hair?
I also love light, fast software that stays out of my face too.
FYI: krita Artist, David Revoy now uses Manjaro XFCE due to poor Qt stability in Ubuntu 16.04 Cinnamonโฆ Mad Artist
