[Mail] Cannot sort by all columns (VB-67151)

ZOMG! A little thing which has been missing since the beginning of mail in Vivaldi - so long I'd forgotten about it... but so good to finally have implemented!

@gregor: Yeah, not been able to reproduce it, could you try in a clean install and see if the issue still occurs etc?

It you want to be secure I would always recommend stable.

It would be good to make it clear that if the user is not interested in testing Snapshots, then they should use Stable.

I am completely unable to click any links in newsfeeds when the mail view is split index above / message below! This means I can see the summary but not open the article... I can see faint lines marking where the index columns are...

This problem does not occur in other mail layouts.

@mossman That is a unfixed but known issue, do you see the thin gray vertical lines? Something overlays the list.

Exactly. If it's known then I will stop reporting the bug.

By the way, another minor bug for the last couple of snapshots - notice that the number of unread articles is not shown next to "Feeds" on the mail pane? The pane still acts like it's in focus even when you click on the index or message body... The only way to stop this is to click in a blank space (e.g., below "all accounts" in my image) before clicking in the index or message.

@Preorian said in Summer fixes – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3425.3:

Found (just before this update was offered) an annoying thing that affects using the horizontal scrollbar.

There seems to be some kind of 1 px horizontal line in the bottom of the Vivaldi window in the snapshot version. This affects the usability of the horizontal scrollbar because if one moves the mouse cursor all the way to the bottom of the browser window (this is when the window is maximized), trying to use the scrollbar doesn't work, the mouse cursor has to be moved a bit higher before trying to use the scrollbar.

This is really annoying because, before (and in the current stable) if one just quickly moved the mouse to the bottom of the browser/screen, the scrollbar could be used fast, without even looking at there. Now in the snapshot, positioning the mouse over the horizontal scrollbar is annoying.

      Steps to try:

      1. Maximize Vivaldi window.
      2. Open some e.g. image that is bigger than the viewport of the browser (or use zoom), so that horizontal scrollbar appears in the bottom
      3. Move mouse cursor all the way to the bottom of the browser/screen and try to use the scrollbar.
= Nothing happens, the mouse is not over the scrollbar.

Try the same thing now with the vertical scrollbar on the right side of the browser/screen. Pointing the cursor all the way to the edge, the scrollbar can be still used.

Doesn't happen in the stable. Only snapshot, this version and (at least) in the previous build, dunno at which snapshot version this started.

Added a screenshot comparison to my initial post:

      viv.jpg

Took "print screen" of both stable and snapshot, cropped & upscaled 8x. The Snapshot has new 1 px (in the upscaled picture 8 px) line in the bottom edge.

I'll send a report later today.

EDIT: Forgot to ask; is that 1px line in the bottom something that a CSS hack could remove?

The problem with running full screen videos has not been fixed.

Videos are resized to lose 1 pixel in the vertical and 2 pixels in the horizontal, which I assume means it is being resied.

@doctorg: Are you really saying no tester has a 4k display? That is difficult to accept.

It's not really a bug if someone changed something in the UI and you don't like it. I have lots of CSS stuff to hide or change things I don't like - and they can't add options for every user's personal preference, that's why we have mods.

Forgot to ask; is that 1px line in the bottom something that a CSS hack could remove?

If it's part of the UI, it can be modded.
You need to inspect the UI and figure out where the line comes from.

I guess internal testers and dev team and some helpers from forum do have.

What clean install? If you mean clean profile (renaming AppData\Local\Vivaldi folder), it seems there is no problem, but it's hard to tell when it occurs, maybe later it would.
I wanted to try to find the problem by gradually deleting things from AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data and after deleting few files I lost all open tabs and being logged in to all websites 😕 Now I probably won't be able to fix it because I didn't make a copy of the entire User Data folder 😕
