Privacy settings for Vivaldi - under the hood
Is there somewhere a link/how to or similar how to improve the privacy settings of Vivaldi (chrome)? A bit like the instructions for FF which can be found - for example - here: https://debiantalk.wordpress.com/2015/03/30/firefox-privacy-tweaks-2/ http://www.rationallyparanoid.com/articles/firefox-about-config-security.html Thanks in advance for any pointer! PS. I heard about SRWare Iron. Are that settings transposable to Vivaldi - in some way?
There's no specific tutorial for it. But most privacy settings are available either in the Settings window, or in the various chrome://settings pages.
I use the advanced features of uMatrix, uBlock Origin & Disconnect.me.
The basic built in security setting (“Google Safe Browsing” malware checks) seems more of a tracking feature to me?
*NOTE: Only use "Host Files" in uMatrix when used alongside uBlock Origin.
(or clicking the icon on the left of address bar)
to find additional settings - WHY these DON'T show on general settings NO IDEA - please can we have an addtional PRIVACY settings panel or these integrated into the settings panel - thanks.
Also, try tweaking some settings on vivaldi://flags
https everywhere extension, for starters:
