Starting to stabilize – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3381.34
-
@Pesala sorry, cannot confirm…
-
@pesala: confirmed. same here. latest beta no print preview. with older stable (6.7.3329.27 (Stable channel) (64-Bit)) it works fine.
-
@nofashion Yes, seems jump to Vivaldi's Chromium core 126 and Windows 10/11 printing system caused it.
-
@DoctorG @nofashion @Pesala Here is the upstream bug I mentioned https://issues.chromium.org/issues/339994760
-
@yngve Thanks.
But strange that it does not happen with 6.8.3381.34 Windows 11 23H2 (10.0.22631.3737]) for me.
I get the preview. -
MIME-type application/vnd.apple.mpegurl not supported in Windows?
⇒ https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/98635/apple-streaming-hls-not-supported -
@DoctorG No idea. The snapshot 3381 build does have a chromium update to current Stable.
On my machine, I have not been be able to reproduce a missing preview. OTOH, my elementary steps may not re-enact what others have done closely enough.
I suspect that we may need detailed step-by-step minimal testcases for each of the various print preview issues from those experiencing the issue filed as bugs. It would also be helpful if you could compare with Chrome 126 (Stable) to see if you can reproduce there.
One thing that might be helpful with those testcases would be to test using the MS PDF file "printer" as a target (perhaps configured as default printer). One possibility that needs to be eliminated is that this might be related to specific printers.
-
@yngve I am not able anymore to reproduce it on my Windows 11 23H2, tested with Save as PDF, regular printers and virtual printers (like MS PDF or PDFCreator).
-
In the latest snapshots (I don’t remember starting from which one), the function for changing the page scale Cntrl + SCROLL stopped working. Check, please
-
@laserviolin Already known, and we are working to fix it, but the fix keeps breaking other things
-
@zalex108: I also get a lot of crashes on Vivaldi. At work I use Vivaldi all the time and it crashes multiple times during a work day.
-
-
@DoctorG I've installed it now. Let's see if it helps, but I've got frequent crashes with Vivaldi since 1 or 2 months.

At work I use stable and there's no problem, but a home now I've to use Stable too, otherwise, crashes at 5/10'.
Made the test disabling uBlock and stayed without problems but it's not an option
The Profile maybe needs a clean up
-
@Zalex108 at work I also had problems with the stable version, but didn't tried the most recent yet. I've tried disabling all extensions, but the problem still occurred. Today I'm testing the latest snapshot version.
EDIT: the latest stable version (6.8.3381.44) crashed about 4 clicks after opening it I just clicked on the feed reader, right clicked a feed and clicked "mark as read" and Vivaldi was gone

@oudstand
Hi, which feed is this, no crash here on Opensuse Linux with 6.8. -
At the moment,
Latest Stable works fine.
Event tested the Feed Mark as Read/Unread, no crashes.uBlock is enabled here, let's seen in some more minutes.
-
@Zalex108 that's the version where I had the crash
@mib2berlin the build in RSS reader of Vivaldi or do you mean the URL of the specific feed?The latest Snapshot also crashes after using it for a while.
Could it be the problem that I use Spotify as a web panel? In the taskmanager of Vivaldi I noticed that the Spotify panel consumes more and more space. Also a local developed Angular application with developer tools open takes more space after reloading. -

Exactly.
