Chromium bump to 126 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3371.4

After installing the snapshot my mail filters were gone! Not the labels but the filters. It was not something critical or beyond repair. I didn't lose anything and - in fact - I had the chance to correct some problems in my mail filtering, but it happened.

Hi, do you installed the snapshot over the stable install?
Updating the the snapshot should not do this and were a bug.

Ah OK.
I don't use filters so I cant reproduce this but if other users can it should be reported to the bug tracker.
Unfortunately there is no archive for snapshots so I cant test this.

I can't update to this version on my RHEL 7.9 because of:

Hi, I fear no, this is based on the Chromium source developer.
Vivaldi jumps from Chromium 124 to 126 and your libc is very old, I am on 2.37 and kernel 6.9, is this really kernel 3?

Hm, then 6.7 is the last version you can use, I guess this will not change.
It's like all Chromium browser kick Windows 7-8.1 a few month ago, at some point it make no sense to support older platforms anymore.

I don't know what's going on but it seems to get more and more unstable with every build. It just keeps chewing up resources and eventually, something gets suspended and everything crashes. Takes forever to start and come up. It's faster if you start without extensions but still...very frustrating.

@Pesala I can confirm the crash. Compact layout is working normally here on Windows 11 beta (22635.3646).

Hi, Vivaldi does not crash on Linux, I can check on Windows 11 later. I use this settings:

I don't care much about the new menus but was dialogs not rounded independent of the setting?

Compact layout seems to be OK after restarting.

The crash now occurs without doing anything. Vivaldi Snapshot will start up OK, then crashes after a few seconds.

Using Vivaldi 6.7.3329.39 Stable to reply.

I will try reinstalling the Snapshot.

I restored a backup from last month, and updated the Snapshot and my backup.
I won’t try clearing browsing data just yet, in case it messes up my profile again.
