      You are the first user report this in this thread, others seems not to notice it.
      Anyway, can you reproduce my one tab theory?
      I can report it then.

      I didn't do exactly as you described (didn't want to close all tabs, not just right now), but I noticed something testing in the forum you linked to.

      1. Open a link in BG (background) -> opens in FG (foreground) = BUG
      2. Close the new tab
      3. Open another link in BG, -> opens in FG = BUG
      4. Go back to the first forum page, don't close the new tab.
      5. Open another link in BG -> opens in BG = as expected
      6. Open more links in BG -> all open in BG = as expected
      7. Go to the first new tab opened in step 3 and close it.
      8. Go back to the first forum page
      9. Open another link in BG -> opens in BG = as expected
      10. Close all new tabs, leave the first forum page opened
      11. Open another link in BG, -> opens in FG = BUG

      So, it seems with your test website, as long as there's at least 1 other tab from the same site open *, opening links in BG works as expected.

      * Doesn't have to be opened from the first one, I tried copy link+create new empty tab+paste&go the link to the tab and then trying to open links in BG from the first tab.

      @Pathduck important/!important handling changed radically in 126 and does not seem to work anymore; all important/!important usage was removed from page actions as part of the 126 update.

      BUT, it's not that simple. I just noticed on another site that this happens:

      (all links opened are in the same website)

      1. Open a link in BG -> opens in FG = BUG
      2. Open a link in BG (from the 2nd tab that was just opened) -> opens in BG = as expected
      3. Change to the 3rd tab
      4. Open a link in BG -> opens in FG = BUG

      It repeats just like that. It's just weird.

      Do you have a link to what changed?
      My test cases show it's not just page actions - all !important clauses fail for CSS filters specifically. Possibly other CSS properties. And in any case, even if !important is ignored, it should still apply the style - but instead it just fails to apply the style at all.

      EDIT: This is a Chromium bug since 126 something. It ignores CSS filters and possibly other properties with !important set.

      After installing the snapshot my mail filters were gone! Not the labels but the filters. It was not something critical or beyond repair. I didn't lose anything and - in fact - I had the chance to correct some problems in my mail filtering, but it happened.

      Hi, do you installed the snapshot over the stable install?
      Updating the the snapshot should not do this and were a bug.

      Ah OK.
      I don't use filters so I cant reproduce this but if other users can it should be reported to the bug tracker.
      Unfortunately there is no archive for snapshots so I cant test this.

      I can't update to this version on my RHEL 7.9 because of:

      sudo yum update vivaldi-snapshot -y
      Loaded plugins: langpacks, search-disabled-repos
      Resolving Dependencies
      --> Running transaction check
      ---> Package vivaldi-snapshot.x86_64 0:6.8.3358.3-1 will be updated
      ---> Package vivaldi-snapshot.x86_64 0:6.8.3371.4-1 will be an update
      --> Processing Dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.25)(64bit) for package: vivaldi-snapshot-6.8.3371.4-1.x86_64
      --> Finished Dependency Resolution
      Error: Package: vivaldi-snapshot-6.8.3371.4-1.x86_64 (vivaldi)
                 Requires: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.25)(64bit)

      Is there any chance that the next snapshot could lower the libc dependency?

      I have glibc-2.17-317.el7.x86_64 installed, kernel 3.10.0-1160.el7.x86_64.

      Hi, I fear no, this is based on the Chromium source developer.
      Vivaldi jumps from Chromium 124 to 126 and your libc is very old, I am on 2.37 and kernel 6.9, is this really kernel 3?

      Cheers, mib

      @mib2berlin : sure. We have a pretty limited / restricted RHEL 7.9 install, so that's what I have.

      Hm, then 6.7 is the last version you can use, I guess this will not change. 😕
      It's like all Chromium browser kick Windows 7-8.1 a few month ago, at some point it make no sense to support older platforms anymore.

      I don't know what's going on but it seems to get more and more unstable with every build. It just keeps chewing up resources and eventually, something gets suspended and everything crashes. Takes forever to start and come up. It's faster if you start without extensions but still...very frustrating.
