Chromium bump to 126 – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3371.4

@DoctorG Thank you for your time! I thought I have a broken setting somewhere!
Now, at least, I know it's not a bug, it's a feature!LE: And thanks for the hint with Profiles. It might be useful sometimes!

It is one thing that has changed for me recently. The CSS used to work, but I don’t know why it has stopped working.
Looks like a bug with how it handles the
!important
clause.
Try removing that.Test cases:
https://codepen.io/stianlund/full/oNRZmdq
https://pathduck.github.io/test/video-filters/
Videos should have the same filters, but the first one with!important
does not.
In Stable 6.7 and other browsers it works as expected.Reported as
VB-106998 CSS filters with !important clause do not work

Will check later,
Thank you!! -
Has anyone noticed that on some sites opening links in a background tab (either by mouse middle/wheel click, or by selecting "open in a background tab" from the context menu) actually change to opened tab?!
Haven't seen this happen before. What is weird is that some links on some sites DO open in background but not all.
For example, trying to open a link in a background tab in google or startpage search results page open the tabs in view, not in background. Very weird.

I have noticed it, yes.
But no idea how to reproduce it consistently.
Seems to happen after a browser start, possibly the first tab.Try to find exact reproduction steps starting from a clean profile.
For example, trying to open a link in a background tab in google or startpage search results page open the tabs in view, not in background.
Problem is it doesn't happen every time.

@Preorian @Pathduck
I can reproduce this, have only one tab open the fist "background" tab always open in foreground, the next tabs open in the background.
This happen always in the forum and https://blenderartists.org/c/general-forums/5 -

Not for me like that, it seems to be just random. Just tried links on one site, middle clicked and link opened in a new tab, then tried few more times with middle click & open from context menu and same thing happened, and then suddenly both methods actually open links in a background tab as should have happened from the start. It's REALLY weird. Impossible to find steps to reproduce.
I really REALLY hope this bug doesn't find its way to stable branch. This totally ruins my browsing of web. Someone from Vivaldi (maybe Chromium) team should try to check this out without us finding steps to reproduce.

@Preorian
I workaround at moment with open a new tab, then go back to the main page and open 10 tabs in the background, for example.
It kills my workflow too.
Without a bug report to the bug tracker nobody would check anything.
We need a proper bug report. -

Someone "ping" Viv devs here?
We need a proper bug report.
Sometimes it is just impossible for the end-users to find out why/how some bug happens. The devs need to do something in situations like this.

Works here.
- Create user_files\Video Filters.css without the !important:
video { filter: brightness(500%); }
- Open test case: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/media/html5-proprietary-media-on-linux/
- Apply page action "Video Filters"
- Reload page might be necessary
Result:
Seems to work on YT as well.
- Create user_files\Video Filters.css without the !important:

@Preorian
You are the first user report this in this thread, others seems not to notice it.
Anyway, can you reproduce my one tab theory?
I can report it then. -

I didn't do exactly as you described (didn't want to close all tabs, not just right now), but I noticed something testing in the forum you linked to.
- Open a link in BG (background) -> opens in FG (foreground) = BUG
- Close the new tab
- Open another link in BG, -> opens in FG = BUG
- Go back to the first forum page, don't close the new tab.
- Open another link in BG -> opens in BG = as expected
- Open more links in BG -> all open in BG = as expected
- Go to the first new tab opened in step 3 and close it.
- Go back to the first forum page
- Open another link in BG -> opens in BG = as expected
- Close all new tabs, leave the first forum page opened
- Open another link in BG, -> opens in FG = BUG
So, it seems with your test website, as long as there's at least 1 other tab from the same site open *, opening links in BG works as expected.
* Doesn't have to be opened from the first one, I tried copy link+create new empty tab+paste&go the link to the tab and then trying to open links in BG from the first tab.

@Pathduck important/!important handling changed radically in 126 and does not seem to work anymore; all important/!important usage was removed from page actions as part of the 126 update.
-
BUT, it's not that simple. I just noticed on another site that this happens:
(all links opened are in the same website)
- Open a link in BG -> opens in FG = BUG
- Open a link in BG (from the 2nd tab that was just opened) -> opens in BG = as expected
- Change to the 3rd tab
- Open a link in BG -> opens in FG = BUG
It repeats just like that. It's just weird.

Do you have a link to what changed?
My test cases show it's not just page actions - all !important clauses fail for CSS filters specifically. Possibly other CSS properties. And in any case, even if !important is ignored, it should still apply the style - but instead it just fails to apply the style at all.EDIT: This is a Chromium bug since 126 something. It ignores CSS filters and possibly other properties with !important set.

Web Panel's notification badge/number never update,is that a bug?
But in version 6.5, this function is normal -
After installing the snapshot my mail filters were gone! Not the labels but the filters. It was not something critical or beyond repair. I didn't lose anything and - in fact - I had the chance to correct some problems in my mail filtering, but it happened.

@nutcracker
Hi, do you installed the snapshot over the stable install?
Updating the the snapshot should not do this and were a bug.Cheers, mib
