The earlier feature request has disappeared.

Keyboard shortcuts and Mouse Gestures are currently not synchronised as far as I can tell.

@LonM No. I saw that request, which is for a shortcut to trigger Sync Now.

My request is for the shortcuts and gestures to be synchronised.

Mouse gestures are fine, but probably keyboard ones should be synced only between same OS kind (otherwise they could broken globally after sync).

This is one is the most annoying ones for me, every time I reinstall there's a dozen shortcuts I need to remap including a half dozen command chains I need to recreate.

I use the New Stacked Tab and the New Top Level Tabs command chains normally with Ctrl+T and Alt+T, respectively. After a fresh install this means Vivaldi default missing Alt+T is very distracting and hard for me to use, constantly clicking Alt+T and then sitting for 5 seconds wondering why a tab isn't opening. But then to get it set up takes awhile as I need to find my forum post documenting the commands chains and settings modifications, then re-mplement them.

@ukanuk Make a printout of the Keyboard Shortcuts with all of the categories expanded. You will need an app that can capture scrolling webpages, like FastStone Capture.

@Pesala it takes just as long for me to look through a printout of hundreds of shortcuts as to look at the on the second computer's screen. And for me personally, a piece of paper or screenshot is probably harder to keep track of than my first computer.

Thank you for the suggestion though, I appreciate it and how active you always are in the forums!

Yesterday, I set up over ten shortcuts and sidebar web pages on my home computer. I came to work today, excited, thinking they had synced, but nothing was there. Additionally, I had removed the default plugin shortcuts on my home computer, but when the plugins synced today, the shortcuts were still set to the plugin defaults. The sidebar web pages also didn't sync. Right now, I'm feeling that the sync feature is still too weak.

That feature needs to me implemented! Add shortcuts from PC to PC, from stable to snaphot drives me crazy!

@Pesala Appreciate you making sure that this feature request didnt get lost.

I am a heavy user of stream deck and touch portal, which uses hotkeys. Most online streamers, heavy computer/it workers, researchers, etc use hotkeys. Syncing our shortcuts is essential or we have to redo all of that over again in any new device or profile.

Also, reminder that shortcuts are also an accessibility issue. those with limited mobility make great use of things like touch portal and stream deck to reduce strain on their hands, or to mitigate keyboard or mouse movements that cause physical harm or are out of reach for the user.

It's so frustrating that the keyboard shortcuts are not even in their own file so we could sync/manage it ourselves. This would also make it easier to manage and update multiple profiles. Atm, Vivaldi's "sync" seems more proof of concept than an actual sync and I wouldn't care if it wasn't such a PITA to do it myself.

The monolithic preferences json file needs to be split apart to give power users more capabilities. What if I want Workspaces from one profile to be cloned to another? How about pushing bookmarks out to various project-specific profiles? Since we are never likely to get containers, having easy-to-work with preference files would make life better.

Another +1 here, I am working across multiple machines and operating systems and having a keyboard shortcut sync would be very nice indeed

I would love it if keyboard shortcuts where synced between devices. As for between OS, probably the best approach is to go by physical position so for example CTRL+CMD+T on macOS is CTRL+ALT+T on Windows.
