Stable 1.2.490.43 Update?

My stable just updated to 1.2.490.43, no announcement on the Blog. Anyone else?

  • awright Ayespy turning on a machine to find out.
    Good First call.

  • no update here
The download 1.2 download button offers the version You cite.

Are you on the STABLE version? If you are on version 1.2.490.39 (Stable), then if you check update or close it and open it, it should offer you the update. If you are on 1.3.501.6 (Developer) then you won't seen an update offer until the snapshot updates.

I saw the update when I opened my Stable version installation. There's no update for us on the snapshots yet.

I haven't turned on my Stable version for several days so that update could have posted any time in the last week.

It was a silent update because a small security fix in the mainstream code base.

No changes in Vivaldi code, hence no bells and whistles. ;)

Ah - I see. Not silent in my case. A big ol' update notification jumped up in my face when I opened the Stable installation today. It had no changelog on it, just a note to go to the Blog for details, which of course were not there. I obviously let the update go ahead.

  • I am told it was a Chromium update, you'd need to ask them (Chromium) for a changelog.

I could give a rip. The whole thing just took me by surprise. Chromium doesn't update us, Vivaldi does. So if there were a changelog worth knowing about, I'm sure they'd mention it. If they didn't bother to do a blog post and put up a changelog, I'm not going to chase one. At least now I know it was a minor update of engine security only, and that's enough for me.

There aren't silent updates, intended like the ones for Opium, in Vivaldi.

I wrote "silent" intended as not announced/not advertised

Anyway this is the relevant mainstream announcement about those fixes
