[Feature Request] Stack tabs in side bar with visible sub groups (like folders)
-
The only reason I'm still with Firefox is their vertical tab extension "Tree Style Tab" http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/_treestyletab.html.en When I found out today that Vivaldi has something similar I was super exited. Unfortunately, when I group several tabs, they are "super imposed" and reveal only thumbnails. I need to see the title of the page. Therefore my suggestion: do it like "Tree Style Tabs" (see screenshot) and let me collaps and open the tabs on the side like in a file system to navigate. BTW the icons at top are "pinned" tabs – the others are hibernated tabs. Here's a short video demo of what I'm talking about:

(of course I'd want to see this on the right side of the screen)

Tree style tabs have been requested a few times.
Meanwhile, you can disable Popup Thumbnails in Settings, Tabs, Tab Display to show Tooltips with the page titles instead. You can also use the Window menu (Alt + W), but that's not so useful with lots of Tabs, and also lacks any tree structure. One day, we may get the Windows Panel like in Opera 12.17.
