Youtube suddenly extremely slow
Hello, The last few days youtube has been extremely slow in initiating the buffering of almost every video. When I click on a video, it will either: a) Show a black rectangle where the video and the controls should be or b)Show the controls with the rotating circle in the middle but the buffering will never begin. I have not installed any extensions recently that might be causing this and I have also tried disabling those I had previously installed but it did not help. I have also tried watching videos on Chrome to make sure it's not a connection issue but it loads them instantly. Also when a video starts buffering(if it ever does after several refreshes) the buffering is fast as expected. In the network tab, when you do right click->inspect it shows that something called crossdomain.xml, generate_204 and some videoplayback?id=.. have a 4+ second time delay while everything else has less than 200ms. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thank you PS. In case it is related, I also had some flickering issues which I fixed by disabling VSync Vivaldi: 1.2.485.14 (Developer Build) dev (64-bit)

That may help.
Thanks. Tried it but it did not work. Anyone else with the same problem?

Hi – i can't help you, but am only writing to indicate that this problem seems local not general, in that i have not / am not having any such hassles when i watch YouTube. I have lots of Extensions installed & active, i have VSync still active [on Auto], & i've had no flickering. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a cache I can try to clear? Maybe it would help? Because at the same time I have a youtube video on Vivaldi waiting for it to start buffering, I can copy the link on Chrome and it will immediately start playing the video which means it's clearly not a network issue. I get a lot of failed requests when I right-click->Inspect. Some of them say pending, then suddenly they fail and a new one starts again and it does that continuously. It only begins buffering after refreshing it 10-15 times.
Cache can be cleared under the History button on the Startpage, using the "clear browsing data" button
