Links to advanced configuration items

  • Yes I know V developers are adding configuration options all the time :) Today, certain advanced options can be configured only from: chrome://settings/content chrome://flags A full list of these secrets urls here: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/forum/german/11172-vivaldi-einstellungen#60658 But most of these urls are unknown and a deep search in V forums is required to unearth them. Is it possible to have links to these urls as an "Advanced settings - use at your own risk" item in the regular settings page? Not much effort to add, and quite useful.

  • Those are actually Chromium internal links, they aren't secret, they are mentioned briefly in the "tips & tricks" sticky thread, and you can find them just googling about chromium instead of Vivaldi.

    Most of them are valid for any Cr based browser unless explicitly replaced or disabled.

  • Thanks,
    I actually found one of them via some chrome webpage, then searching this forum gave me the rest.
    It would be nice though instead of having to search the forum, that the settings page had these links in place.

    Thanks,

  • Add a speed dial or bookmark folder for Chrome Settings, and when you come across any that you need, add them to the bookmarks.

  • Hi,

    it would be nice to have in in standard menu. For example option to enable this section in settings, and then don't bother. It's simple update of menu items, which shouldn't be so hard I guess. There's even forum for menu modifications.

    As for now I suggest you to use link:```
    chrome://about

    And remember even if it will move you to page:```
    vivaldi://about/
    ```they're not the same. So using vivaldi prefix won't show you page with internal links, but vivaldi about page instead.
    Here's the list of links with short explanation: [List of Chrome URLs and their purpose](https://www.ghacks.net/2012/09/04/list-of-chrome-urls-and-their-purpose/)
    Yes, but that's for me. I was thinking about others too, and doing it at the dev stage means everyone enjoys the improvement.
    That's a good tip, didn't know that one.
    Gradually, the whole concept of internal Chromium links will become less and less relevant, as the options are added to the Vivaldi interface. I'm not sure that it's good policy to train new users to a format which, with any luck, will become obsolete pretty quickly.
