After upgrading to Vivaldi version 6, certain websites take significantly longer to load compared to a previous stable version.
The slow loading issue is not observed in Konqueror, but also observed in Opera.
The issue is consistent across multiple websites and does not appear to be limited to a specific website or content type.
No error messages or warnings are displayed during the slow loading process.Steps Taken to Troubleshoot:
Cleared browsing data, including cache, cookies, and history.
Disabled all extensions and add-ons.
Checked and confirmed that proxy settings are set to "No proxy."
Disabled hardware acceleration in Vivaldi settings.
Downgrading to version 5.3.2679.73 resolves the slow loading issue. What is shown if you start in Shell:
vivaldi --disable-syncCloud management controller initialization aborted as CBCM is not enabled.
libva error -

An causes broken profile with unexpected issues, we can not help to fix if you downgraded..
-
But I tried it with a brand new profile, (removed the Default folder) yet it still had the same issue.
-
@vivaldizpg Should start if you deleted the Default/ folder.
What is shown if you start in Shell:
vivaldi --disable-sync
Any error messages?

Hi, new user are limited to add not to many posts in a short time. This is getting better after some time.
Can you add some links to such pages, I got slowdown on the forum unread section, for example.Cheers, mib

vivaldi --disable-sync
And with:
vivaldi --disable-gpu
-
@DoctorG Same error.
Apparently, the iHD is the fallback Intel video driver when nothing else works. This machine uses Intel Mesa HD built-in graphics, no separate GPU card.
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
-
@vivaldizpg Perhaps graphics driver is broken/incompatible.
What happens with Chromium 114? Same issue? -
@vivaldizpg I run a i915 driver on my Debian with a older Intel HD onboard GPU and it is not slow in rendering websites.

What happens with Chromium 114? Same issue? No in the case of Chromium 114.0.5735.45-1, it crashes entirely with:
Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)
I want to use Vivaldi, and version 5.3.2679.73 works better than any other browser I ever used, and I have used almost all of them over the years. The problem is I have to downgrade to get it, and downgrading any app makes my Arch system less stable.

What version of Vivaldi is it running?

One issue was that I was running mesa instead of mesa-amber in Arch (both are OpenGL implementations). The latter became required for older hardware like mine after OpenGL version 22 was released.
I am able to run the current version of Vivaldi, but certain websites, like yahoo finance and twitter are now slow (yahoo) to unresponsive (twitter). Have not figured out what the issue still is.
