Suggestion: Option to make Speed Dial dynamic based on usage

Forgive me if this functionality exists already, I didn't see it. But I dislike having to divide my bookmarks between their proper folders and the speed dial; I think it would be better if the speed dial was comprised of the sites you most frequently visit instead of just being a folder of bookmarks on your homepage. I'm sure some people like it the way it is, which is why I suggest making it an option. It would improve organization for those of us who care about it, and would be one less thing to manage.
That functionality is in Chrome, not Vivaldi, and I really hate it. I want my Speed Dial to always remain exactly as I created it.
So, if written (some time in the distant future) as an option, that might be kewl. But I suspect the vast majority of Vivaldi users want a speed dial that is exactly the one they created, or they want none at all.

I get that, but I like my browsing experience to be more dynamic– sometimes I get stuck in a groove where I keep visiting the same websites, even ones I don't particularly like, and I don't really want my browser to reinforce that. Or for myself to have to think about organizational details like: do I put this page in the 'blogs' bookmark folder or in the speed dial? Does this page deserve to be in the speed dial?
In the end it'd just be a nice bit of functionality to have for those who want it.

Old Opera had a "Top 10" menu in the Start bar, though the start bar got disabled later as most people didn't like that. (Not that you couldn't enable it if you wanted it, but most new users never found out it was there.) In that sense, the Top 10 menu was the most popular item on the Start bar, but if that was all you wanted you could move it somewhere else.
I wouldn't be surprised if Jon and company recreated it in V, but not as a Speed dial replacement.

I have the same opinion like Ayespy.
I hate the (standard) Speed Dial in Chrome or in Firefox (without any Addons). It's not useful in my browsing experience. But if there are enough users with interest in this feature maybe the Vivaldi devs will implement this as option or somebody will write a "addon" or a UI modification/customizing for Vivaldi.
The actually Speed Dial is for me really good and very productive. But it's not perfect at the moment. There are more options necessary to change the thumbnail and reload the thumbnail automatically. But these two "wishes" was reported several times and I think the Vivaldi devs will implement it soon as possible.

Personally I asked about this in the very first days ov Vivaldi development. Aside to a number of other improvements that the stock SD badly needs.
But, you know, Vivaldi's oven is small, and atm something else is backing.
That said now the problem is way less stringent as it was, given an alternate SD can be installed w/o the tricks I shared, thanks to the recently introduced "newtab" setting.
Hence you can use vivaldi while enjoying a more powerful SD. Like FVD speed dial, which has the top ten feature, the custom preview, the custom tiles, the metroissh tiles for the people who like them, and last but not least it has the customizzable grid to get a decent number of tiles even on smaller/lower resolution displays. But there are a lot of other choices.
