Threaded view for vivaldi mail
-
Hi,
I've been trying to set up vivaldi mail - I've added both my vivaldi account and my gmail account, and neither of them are showing threaded views. I've tried in "All messages" as well as in the "All mail" for each of the accounts, and clicking the threaded button doesn't change anything. If I right click a message to view the thread, it only ever shows me a single message and doesn't show any other messages, even when I can see there are other messages in the same view that should be in the same thread. Is there some way to get vivaldi mail to "see" the threaded messages that I'm missing?
Thanks,
Matt -
Update: In case this is useful, I noticed that if I added the "Date (Threaded)" column, there are no dates in that column at all, only in the "Date" column.

Hi, I don´t use threaded view but switch it on for this test, this is one of my vivaldi.net accounts:So it shows threaded and Date.
I cant imagine what could be the reason it does not show up for you.
As 80% of all issues are caused by extensions this is maybe the reason here too but you can only test this with a second profile or a standalone install of Vivaldi for testing.
I could be also a broken profile.
If you don´t use many extensions you can first try to disable all, restart Vivaldi but in most cases you have to remove extensions.https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/user-profiles/

Thanks mib - I think this is starting to give me some hints. I made a new account, and everything looked like it was working there. Interestingly, I also noticed that the top bar looked different in the two accounts. In my original one, I see:
and in the new one I see:
so the original one doesn't have the "Sort by date (threaded)", and I can't see how to get it to show up. So I just used the new account, and figured that would work. And it did - until I tried to sync my settings, then the new version turned back into the old one... -
@mthomas
This is even more strange as mail settings are not synced but extensions.
Can you try this again and sync only bookmarks and passwords, for example?
With accounts you meant profiles, I guess.Cheers, mib

Well strange indeed, but this does seem to solve it - thank you! I'm slowing adding things back in to see if there's something along the way that breaks it, but so far so good. (And yes - I did mean profiles.) Thanks again!
