Vivaldi 6.0 RC 1 – Vivaldi Desktop Browser snapshot 2979.9/10
-
It is still crashing at dropping down the Help menu.
-
Update: The bug is related to the disabled Tab Bar. When I work with enabled Tab Bar everything works as expected.
-
@joachim-pfaff I could not reproduce this with a horizontal menu bar. Are you using the Button menu? (I removed the help menu from mine).
-
Update 2: The disabled Tab Bars position must be configured to be on the left or the right side.
-
@Ruarí The Tab Position page on the Welcome tour could use a bit of colour, like the Choose a Theme page.
-
The undocked dev tools bug is still not fixed. It's a regression since version 5.8. I hope this will be fixed soon. Cheers

Update 3: It is neccessary that you open enough tabs to enable the scrollbar on the tab bar.
-
Update 4: It looks like that you need to have at least one tab stack. The error produces more 'blank space' when you have a lot of tabs and work with most recent tabs which are next to the bottom of the pane.
-
@pesala: Yes, I use the Button Menu, this seems to be now the default for new Vivaldi installs.
But it makes no difference which menu type I use. -
@HalleAndert There are problems with Undocked dev tools at least since version 5.7. I hope these bugs will be gone soon

Since version 5.7? That's even worse. As a professional dev, I need Vivaldi for doing my job. Broken dev tools are forcing me to switch to another browser in some cases. This is not good in terms of a browser being designed for power users.

Vivaldi still crashes sometimes when clicking links in the extension popups (which appears after clicking extension button)
-
Thanks for fixing the Private mode crash! Works OK now.
-
@joachim-pfaff You should have enough info to submit a proper bug report by now.
Please see How to Report a Bug.

What was missing was this correction that I sent to video support.
I open the browser, but as you can see the video, it opens, but it asks users that there are two profiles. browse the pages; VB-96584 -

It would be nice if the team made sure that developers could use the browser at work.
Long-standing bugs with dev tools discourage devs from using a browser with such huge possibilities -
With this build, I have some visual artifacts: little squares sometimes appearing and blinking in various locations of the screen.
(photo because it doesn't show on screenshots)
On previous builds, I didn't have the issue.
