New User, Couple of Questions
-
I just downloaded Vivaldi, and it is pretty decent. I have some questions, though: 1. Can I get rid of the trash can in the top right? 2. Is there a way to get rid of the black bar to the left? I'm not too big of a fan of it. 3. Can I get rid of the tiny gap on the top of the browser? 4. Can I install Firefox extensions? 5. Can I get rid of the animation in the address bar when loading a webpage? 6. You know how in Google Chrome there are "users", where you can sync certain bookmarks, extensions, etc? Is there a similar feature in Vivaldi? Thank you!

#1. - Not yet. It's where your recently closed tabs are stored for retrieval.
#2. - There are many ways. You can turn it off in the view menu, you you can hit F4 to close and open it, you can go into Menu/Tools/Settings/panel and turn on the panel toggle, which will open and close it - whatever strikes your fancy.
#3. - Settings/Tabs / Remove tab Spacing on Maximized Windows
#4 - No. You can install Chrome extensions.
#5 - No. We users worked very hard to get that. Developers have not offered a way to turn it off yet. -

You can always use different profiles.
Create a shortcut starting Vivaldi pointing to 1st profile (let say - p1):
D:\Sys\bin\Vivaldi\vivaldi.exe -user-data-dir="D:\Tmp\Vi\p1" ```When you start Vivaldi using this shortcut it will use profile p1 stored in that place. Then you can create another profile (let say - p2) and use it the same way… You can use as many profiles as you wish and use them at the same time without messing settings or sessions :) If you don't have profile folder, it will be created by browser when you run it first time. You can also copy existing profiles to different folders and use them. It's very convenient and secure way to run independent sessions with the same browser.
