Earlier today vivaldi warned me that I have no space left and I should clean up. I was so stupid and pressed the button to clean up everything. By itself, it is whatever, but now for some reason visited sites are not shown in the adressbar when I start typing them. Also the small icons that used to be on the left of the address is not displayed. The only icon I see if that from the vivaldi game.

That is because your "clean up" deleted the history!

Not exactly sure what this means, but first check would be to right-click on that area of the address bar and choose "Edit -reset to default".

I understand that, I mean new sites that I type in manualy after that incident are not saved so that I can see them in the address bar.

See picture. Instead of the file icon there was an individual site icon, just like there is the vivaldi game icon.

btw, I typed vivaldi in the addressbar and that is what I get despite visiting vivaldi forum and site several times now.

Those are your bookmarks. Their icons would also have been removed by your "clean up". The icons should be refreshed when you visit those sites.
Note: they are not Vivaldi sites, they are partner links to the actual sites - hulu, target etc.

Since the description of my problem is not clear enough I found a thread with the same problem

                https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/69719/history-does-not-save-have-to-bookmark-every-page

And I noticed that my history is not getting saved. So I purged vivaldi the hell away but after the installing all the settings and my profile is still there. How do I either fix it or completely remove the profile so I can sync with my other device? Thanks

Edit: Ok, I don't really know what was going on, but I just rebooted without doing anything and I got my history back. It wasn't even deleted.
