I think there is no need to re-add a Delete button, you can use Sessions Panel.

Even if it is possible to delete a session via the sessions panel (just now I tried, and it works! hurrah! I had the same problem – which is why I looked for this discussion) – I think it would be good to have a delete button.

My own practice is to store a set of opened tabs in a session 'for later' (not 'forever') and after one or two weeksat the most I delete the stored session. So a delete button would be convenient.

Yes please! I mistakenly forgot to click 'this window only' and ended up with a session of 209 tabs, instead of just six! I used to be able to delete a bad session, but I don't see how to do that now.

@DoctorG Why? What is the problem with having Open, Delete and Cancel buttons which are the 3 basic operations users need?

There is no problem for me. Vivaldi developers of user interface decided to have no Delete.

Hi DoctorG, I'm using sessions quite regularly, and sometimes I make the mistake of having a second window with more tabs in the second plane when I save the session. I would like to be able to delete those sessions I don't need, as otherwise. What's the point of having sessions if I have a mess when looking at my sessions? Shouldn't it be better if I delete the irrelevant ones to have them organised out of clog?

@DoctorG Is there any extensions to add a delete button in Vivaldi as clearly many people in the community don't have the same opinions from the developers? Thanks for your reply.

@Translucido So far I found this extension that can Save, Update and Delete sessions, also can save all the sessions to a file or loading from a file, which is very helpful if someone wants to do a backup of their sessions. It is not ideal because Chrome said "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions." but I couldn't find what practices are those.

@mib2berlin Checking in that forum I realised I can edit, organise and delete my sessions using the left panel, which is exactly what I needed. All the best.

      More than 2 years later.
There is no delete session button again (or it was never added?).

Vivaldi version: 7.4.3684.50 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

The delete session button was removed from session save dialog popup. No goal of dev team to add it again.

Session can be deleted in Session Panel.

      Wow thanx! 🙂
      And also.. bad..

I had to add it to toolbar just to delete a session..
Then I removed it from toolbar again.

I guess I will have to add and remove it when ever I want to delete a session?
Weird choice, but a choice none the less.

      And the tutorial is wrong.

Just let the Sessions Panel button stay in panel bar.
Removing an re-adding is too much business.

@DumbJetty Typing sess works for me to see the correct command in Quick Commands.

And typing session panel works for me, too.

Weird.. Maybe that search only works if you have it in the sidebar?
I don't have open session panel.

      ef52b672-9803-4d96-9315-b1efe87fb952-image.png

open saved session opens the list that doesn't have the delete button. So that's null and void to use.
