      Hi there.

Have you ever thought about adding a function to the panel where we can add different cities in the world with their current time?

I for example, talk to different people each day living in different countries. I would be nice to have a quick list of times available, so planning a new call is a bit easier.

I had a "simple" vertical list in mind where the user can add and delete cities and/or timezones. Something like the Notes. Showcasing the difference in hours between your location and the different location would be awesome.

Thanks for reading and or considering this feature in advance.

      Example:

      Main City: Amsterdam 12.00 (UTC+1)

      City: Singapore
Time Difference with main: +7 hours
Current UTC time: 19.00 (UTC +8)
      --------------------------------------------
      City: Miami
Time Difference with main: -6 hours
Current UTC time: 19.00 (UTC -5)```

@jrkl One can already add a world time clock as a web panel.

It would be better to have such an option for the existing Status Bar clock, where it would be always visible. (The clock can be moved to the Address Bar for those who wish to hide the Status Bar).

At least in Windows it's not a problem to have several clocks in the task bar, you can define it in teh clock settings to show the localtime of all the cities you want

@Pesala Wouldn't you think that the statusbar would be cluttered with multiple timezones? I assume you are referring to the Vivaldi statusbar.
            @Catweazle That option is limited.

@jrkl I don't envisage it cluttering the Status Bar (or Address Bar).

The local time would be shown on the clock, and other time zones would be visible on the pop-up dialog, where one could add or delete different time zones.

Certainly much quicker than opening a Time Zone Panel, or leaving the panels always open, and switching to the Time Zone Panel to see the time in various other zones.

Alternatively you can use an extension like this one (Chrome/FF)

                Github

                There are also some others

@Pesala How about this mockup as an example. Unfortunately I'm not able to visualize your idea. Care to elaborate on that? Might be a better idea than the one I have. EDIT: Or do you mean a list on top of the clock when it pops up? Either way is both times clicking once on a button for it to appear. It's either the button on the panel or the button on the statusbar.

@jrkl I hide the panel toolbar on my main work window, so it is more than two clicks. I mean the pop-up on the Status Bar Clock.

@Pesala Ah, I understand now. I don't use the clock in the statusbar/toolbar, since it doesn't have any useful function for me. I, on the otherhand, have the panel toolbar always visible since I use the mail/calendar/notes/bookmarks panels very often for work.

@jrkl I suggest searching for a more suitable time zone conversion webpage than the one that I linked to, which does not fit well.

I don't see this being implemented natively any time soon.

@Pesala Yeah, I was already afraid that this wouldn't come (soon) to vivaldi, but at least I tried.

The webpage you linked is the one I already use, but it's more tedious then you think, hence this suggestion.

Thanks anyways for the replies and thinking with me 😉

It would be good for users to understand that Vivaldi is not this:

@barbudo2005 , in part it is, although for some functions it is better to use a desktop app or some online service, because by definition they offer much more options than a function in a browser.
Users have to understand how to differentiate between functions that are useful, and of these Vivaldi has more than anyone, and functions that are not so practical in a browser.
A Swiss Army knife is certainly a tool that can help on many occasions, but it is certainly not the most suitable tool for a cook to cut steaks.

FWIW, Edge has this in the Tools section of it's Sidebar. And it'll show multiple clocks.

So, Edge is a much better browser than Vivaldi for having that.

Hey users!!! We have to quit Vivaldi and use Edge. Thank you for the recommendation.

One man’s bloat is another man’s useful feature.

When the Status Bar Clock was first introduced in Vivaldi 3.0, the feature request had fewer than 20 votes, but the devs want it, so it was introduced.

Vivaldi is already a Swiss Army Knife, with many built-in features. I hope to see more over the coming years, but I don't see this one coming any time soon. There are simple workaround such as a bookmark or a panel.

I disagree. My Windows taskbar is always hidden, and the Vivaldi window is maximised. I frequently look at the clock. I could live without the alarms that I use most days, but the clock is something that I use multiple times a day.
