Solved Rename Flags [ Completed ]
-
@gmg Red, Green, Orange flags are a good tool but if one uses them to make distinctions or to create filters, it would be extremally useful if they could be renamed from the "Tool Bar" and//or Context Menu. This would make it easier to associate with purpose. Currently they can be renamed only in mail panel. Maybe Tool Bar name & Panel name can be synched so changing one, changes the other. TIA

@janrif I wrote this thread 5 days ago, with the same intention.
@luetage answered with "No" (not possible). -
@Dancer18 You asked whether we can already do it, the answer was of course “no.” This is a feature request, however.
-
@janrif
Have you made a bug for this? Renaming should be easy if I don't have to sync the name between computers.
I can do locally first (and then add another feature request for syncing for which I'd add a flag).Do we just want the local one first?
-
@luetage Oh, I must have misunderstood you there. Probably because I expected it that way. I automatically assumed that flags would be a fixed, standard part of IMAP accounts, and that the names would not be interchangeable.
Isn't it so? Could other names be set in principle?
And does this also apply to the preset labels, which are also color-coded?
-
@gmg Would be great! Sync also.
-
-
@gmg you mean a report? Not from me. Is it a bug then?
-
@Dancer18
I made a bug myself. Have pushed a fix to review. Should be accepted very quickly -
@gmg Thank you!!!

@Dancer18
Fix has been pushed to main. Look for this commit in next snapshotVB-95882: [Mail] Rename flags
-
@gmg What is fixed?
The topic starter wants the names changed in the panel to appear in both the toolbar and the right-click menu, but that still doesn't work (in Vivaldi 6.2.3054.3). -

@gmg good morning. Take a look at the original post in this thread. I updated it to be more exact about what I was hoping for. I think this will clear up any confusion. TIA

The modified flag name is not shown in the context menu, which still uses the colour name only:
