@Ruarí Oh wow.
This is a Windows 64-bit only test build.
I use 32-bit Snapshot
No worries, I also have a 64-bit testing Snapshot
-
No build for Apple-WindowsiOS?
-
@pathduck: Why!!??
P.S. There is a 32-bit, which I didn't just silently add in as the builder finished, I promise! 🤞
-
@olli: Not for you there isn't!

Eh, I dunno. Always done it. It works
Seems to use slightly less memory (but possibly just placebo effect).
Also, crashes on stupidly large web pagesCan confirm that the following I've used as test cases now work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V377v6BAbOE ✅
https://cdpn.io/pen/debug/MWqgMLe ✅
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest ✅
https://store.steampowered.com/charts/mostplayed/ ✅From a purely technical perspective, it would be very interesting with some information about what this "disable-direct-composition-video-overlays" flag does, and how you worked around the problem. Maybe a technical blog post like "anatomy of a bug". I notice there is no Chromium bump so you did something.

Somebody (not me) found a patch (reverting/undoing an older patch) that upstream was working on for 110, and which got merged to 110 a few hours ago, and should be in the next chromium 110 release (the next scheduled one is Tuesday, but they might just be eager enough to get this one out that they release within a couple of days, probably on top of the .99 branch they released earlier this week). We just duplicated it in our codebase (about 8-9 hours before the upstream commit, but we would not have had the upstream commit until tomorrow).

@yngve Thanks, yeah that makes sense
It seems Edge is starting to notice this as well
-
Thanks, 480p and 240p now seem to be okay! Windows 10 64bit, Ryzen CPU, AMD RX470 GPU.
-
Wow; two release candidates in one day? Incredible. Viva la Vivaldi!
@Ruarí - this is still happening, unfortunately. See picture below. Thanks.
(And when the window finally materializes, the window edges are still a bit "off.")
-
Oh! New snap everyday
-
Wow! Nightlies are back!
-
-
@gif2d: You mean twice dailies! 😜
-
I added in links for Linux and macOS and updated the blog post accordingly. Users on those platforms do not need these builds as nothing changed for them. This is just for completion, to make me feel better. 😆
-
@Ruarí As long as they're keep coming, who cares it's day or night?
Now take some rest, as 5.7 it's in stable and have fun!Tomorrow how many 5.8 snapshots should be expected?
-
-
It's hopeless, I give up. I'm stuck at version 5.7.2901.3 because video acceleration stopped working.
-
For those of you who prefer to stay on the Snapshot branch, we have good news - you can already download a new Snapshot.
