I don't mind having "observance" items in my Google calendar but is there any way to get rid of the addition message, "To hide observances, go to Google Calendar Settings > Holidays in United Kingdom"?
Cos that's taking up way too much unnecessary space...

@mwalker212 I don't use google calendar, but is this like an auto-added message in the description of each event?

In that case I have the same problem with events in my Microsoft calendar. They all get a huge "message signature" advertising teams and it's super annoying.

If anyone can suggest a general fix that would be great.

Yep, that's exactly what it is.

@mwalker212 Only way to hide this currently is to use the view options and selecting Minimal (or possibly Compact could help). This setting is a global one and applies to all events for all calendars so it may also hide some useful info as well.

We very much would like to improve on this since we'd like to show you all useful info in one view but not useless cruft like this. No plans though on how to do that. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Minimal works for me, no worse than I'm used to in Thunderbird.
Now if I could just import my 10 years worth of email from Thunderbird (using a non-standard profile location, which appears to be an issue) I'll be sorted πŸ˜‰
