How do I organize imported bookmarks?
-
Vivaldi had two bugs in it so I deleted it and downloaded a fresh profile. This brings me back to square one in some respects. When I import bookmarks from another browser how do I incorporate them into Vivaldis register in an orderly manner? I have asked this question before and no responder knew but I try again hoping that someone has a viable suggestion.

Just open the bookmark manager (Ctrl-B) and reorganize as you wish

You have obviously never dealt with this problem. I have hundreds of bookmarks in their respective folders and subfolders. Please explain to us in detail step by step how you could blend in an organized manner Vivaldi bookmarks imported from 2 or three browsers using a Mac desktop computer with Monterey.

Perfect!
The second link is just a bunch of Extensions to remove duplicates but you already did it inside Vivaldi.
Just look at the Help about the Back up to keep the work already done safe.

They do mostly the same but with different options.
I recommend
- Create a New Profile
- Install them all
- Import the Bookmarks
- Manage them
Once done
- Import them to the productive Profile

Once you have finished discarding unwanted bookmarks, empty the Deleted folder. Vivaldi for some reason keeps deleted bookmarks in a special folder, so it is a good idea to empty it after removing unwanted items.

To make organizing bookmarks easier, open two tabs with bookmarks and tile them. That way you can have different views of the bookmarks at the same time, and can drag and drop bookmarks between tabs.
Bookmarks webpanel can also be used as another view.
All the flexibility of the orthodox file managers.

Hi,
The suggestion about the Clean Profile is to keep it aside. The Bookmarks management would take hours, so it's to split the work.
You would clone your curren profile or Sync on the new Profile, then disable Bookmarks Sync to take the Working Profile Settings instead of adding them manually if not comfortable with the Defaults.
Here I use a dedicated Bookmarks Profile for that job being the Mobile Sync and to Bookmark open pages.
This would lead to duplicates from time to time so I clean them "often", 6Months +/---
About a Guide
I went to Check its settings and trial and error.
Maybe there's a manual unknown for me.The bookmark management would be tedious and break the done work, so keep back ups right changes.

@GerhardGelden While it would take a ton of work up front, you might want to take a look at raindrop.io. It will let you organize your bookmarks very effectively and they can be accessed from most browsers. The hard part is that I am not aware of any import method, so you'd have to enter all of them manually. Even if you don't want to do that, it might still be useful for your new bookmarks from now on.
