Just 3 little things

  • 1. Please, add "Paste and go" option in context menu of search bar, like this option in context menu of address bar: 2. Add button "Go" between address bar and search bar, like Opera 12: 3. Last, but don't least - please, swap positions of "Open in new window" and "Open in new tab in background" in the context menu of links. I use Opera browser from v.3.0 and I'm accustomed to click option after "Open in new tab", when I wish to open in background tab. Much better is to divide options "Open in new tab" and "Open in new tab in background" from "Open in new window" with divider line, as is in Opera 12: Thanks in advance. And best regards! Your product is great and is the last hope for normal, comfort browsing for a lot of people! P.S. Also using of native colors of Windows interface for Vivaldi menu and title bar will be a great: Attachments: ,,,,

  • One more bug: Stop / Resume function of download manager of Vivaldi not work. At example, here is an link to Synaptics TouchPad driver for HP Laptops:

    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72664.exe

When I try to download in Vivaldi, transfer stops after 9-10%. I press Stop, then Resume, but noting happens. To download whole file, I copy link to Opera 12.18. Here transfer also stop after each 9-10%, but when I press Stop and Resume, it's continue.

    Edit:
And please, PLEASE, make download window to appear in separate tab, not in this stupid panel!

The HP Server has a broken resume with HTTP transfer.

Please use a external download manager.

Really? In this case, why download manager of Opera 12.18 resume transfers without problems?

  • I don't know is anybody read my suggestions, because nothing changes in new versions. But I will try one more time... In last few months I install Vivaldi and set it as default browser of my clients. But most of them ask me why audio signal for "download complete" is missing. And the only one answer, that I can give is to continue using Opera 12.18 when it's possible.

For me as IT specialist most frustrating is missing of "Site preferences" in local menu, especially options to disable Java script for site. And missing of "Image properties" on image local menu, that display type, size, full path and EXIF information of image.

Did you tried clicking on the Globe / Padlock icon in the address bar and disabling JS from there? (I know, it's not too intuitive - it took me a while to find those settings, when I needed them).

Currently you're only option is to go to vivaldi://downloads (you can add this to your bookmarks). It's not the most convenient way, but it's the only solution for now (don't worry, you're not the only one hating that download panel). 😜

The old Presto Opera also has another big advantage over any other Chromium-based browser. It saves the files as they are right away, meaning that you can - for example - open a streamable file (like MP4 or FLV) and start watching it right away, while it's still downloading, whereas Chrome, Vivaldi, Opera (based on Chromium), Safari, Maxthon and some other browsers save the file in some kind of a temporary file format, making it completely unusable when the download is not completed or aborted. For that sole reason I think I'm gonna keep the old Presto Opera forever (or as long as there is no better alternative for downloading large files).

Thank you very much! :) It's work fine! :)

  • One more little bug: I checked option "Settings -> Webpages -> Use tab zoom". Then I zoom current page, at example to 140%. But when I open in new tab link to the other page of the same site, new tab is with 100% zoom, instead to be zoomed to 140%.

And thank you to rearranging the order of options in the local menu of the links! Now "Open Link in New Background Tab" is after "Open Link in New Tab" and is much convenient to use. Vivaldi goes better with any new release. This week I was able to convince two of my clients to us it as default browser.
