I added the video urls from Rumble to my blog but the videos are not uploading and on my blog page they just show a dark blank space that looks like I am lost in the dark... What to do? Please help... this was the test link...

@MagiMou Yeah - I don't use the WP "Gutenberg" Block Editor for this exact reason. It's just broken and a complete mess. Most long-time WP users hate that thing.

Change to the Classic Editor under WP Settings > Writing.

        aa77378f-5658-467c-b2d5-82540b13bd0b-image.png

Then just paste the URL of the video and it should auto-embed. Or use the "Text" view and use [embed]URL[/embed] codes.

I can't really teach you to use the Block Editor, as I hate the thing.

Also no point in pasting your post edit URL here, as other users can't access your editor (for obvious reasons...)

        > BTW, today I cannot connect to mozdev.org, would you know why?
Maybe that big lizard escaped and ate the server admins? :-)

@MagiMou Hi, what blog platform would that be? Wordpress?

          Is it a Vivaldi.net blog?

No problem creating a test page with that video on Wordpress using the embed code:
          [embed]https://rumble.com/v2667bs-are-the-demons-of-darkness-just-the-monsters-of-our-imagination....html[/embed]

@Pathduck Hello PathDuck ...Thank you for your quick response. Quack ! The blog platform is vivaldi.net which I think is using a Gutenborg WP editor... I created the page and everything and inserted the video block and video url from Rumble but the video does not load...and it has been more than 12 hours now... in the video place is just showing a blank black space...

@MagiMou The video is from Rumble. If Rumble does not work, will BitChute videos work? What alternative video platforms to You Tube work with my vivaldi blog...?

@MagiMou Please provide a link to your blog page and paste the content of the "Text" tab if using the Classic WP editor or show how you're adding the embed URL.

Did you look at my test page, it works fine.

For the test page I created, the code is really simple:

                This is a Test Page!

                [embed]https://rumble.com/v2667bs-are-the-demons-of-darkness-just-the-monsters-of-our-imagination....html[/embed]

                [embed]https://rumble.com/embed/vdmeqh/[/embed]

                Bitchute works fine too:
                [embed]https://www.bitchute.com/video/rrlaAz5J0hQh/[/embed]

                Peertube also works:
                [embed]https://toobnix.org/w/nbUiZYxmkfjMdDSzLCQyqe[/embed]

My blog page link is below and I am not sure what the 'Test' tab is but I added below the HTML from the video block that slides into place on the Gutenborg editor...

                  <figure class="wp-block-video"><video controls src="https://rumble.com/v2667bs-are-the-demons-of-darkness-just-the-monsters-of-our-imagination....html"></video></figure>

                  https://samothraki.vivaldi.net/surviving-paradise/

Only the bottom and second botom middle videos are relevant because the first vide wont be scheduled to be published on Rumble until later today

                  Thanks PathDuck ! Quack ! Quack !

I did some more research into this, as I got curious... turns out you can use the (loathed) Block Editor for this, but you have to use the Embed block, not the Video block. Read more about this here:
                          https://wordpress.org/support/article/embeds/

As long as the site supports the oEmbed API, it will work just pasting the video url into the Embed block.

The Video block seems to require a direct link to a video (mp4/web-compatible) and does not handle oEmbed URLs.

I also notice your videos on Rumble are missing the Embed button, which should show up next to the Share button. This will give you an IFRAME URL for easy embedding.
                          03add619-2e67-4fce-8a0a-7a0585f2a17b-image.png

Also, if you maybe want to find a place for hosting your videos not dominated by alt-right lunatics and conspiracy theorists, you can find a PeerTube instance instead:
                          https://joinpeertube.org/instances
                          😉

Maybe Vivaldi Social will add a PeerTube instance some day too 🙂
