      Hi all
I am having the issue that Vivaldi sometimes becomes extremely intermittent and hardly usable (scrolling, loading ...) all of a sudden, that is.

I enjoyed (like for the last 2-3 years) using this browser (when it works fine) an congratulate the team for their work.
However, I suspect that the thing is just too overloaded with features.
I just want/need/use a browser - I don't need a mail and news client and what have you.
Vivaldi must be doing stuff in the background (like checking for updates or what do I know ??) which brings it to it's knees.
How can I turn that off? (I can't, right ?)
I am really very annoyed with this issue and fear I will have to switch browsers in the end.

No, I do not use any extensions, no syncing and no other functionalities than the web broser itself.

      Any ideas or hints ?

@tsed Ideas? Can be cause by: Low memory, too many tabs and windows open, extensions causing slowness, broken browser profile, GPU driver incompatibility, Desktop Manager, Display Server and more…

          Please check Troubleshooting issues.

              @DoctorG thanks for the input.
As I mentioned I do not use any extension.
My computer works fine. Everything else works fine and is very fast. Vivaldi is very fast as well ... most of the time, that is.
It is a temporary phenomenon that kicks in all of a sudden. (while everything else OS/Desktop/Apps works fine and fast) I can open a different browser or app, which goes quick and without any issues, while Vivaldi is acting up this way.
I had many many more tabs open and everything was fine. No problem for Vivaldi.
It is definitely not resource usage related.

It is not related to any specific web site(s) either.

It can actually happen even when I have one or two tabs open and nothing else running on the computer.
Vivaldi simply decides that now it will stall for a second and react only every other second 🤷♂

My guess is, it is doing something in the background
