Please remove Browser and keep only Vivaldi
-
I don't understand why the name is Vivaldi Browser
You should know that such a long name on the phone will not be displayed in full
Only "Vivaldi Bro..." will be displayed
Since the entire Vivaldi team who using the Android version knows that the full name doesn't actually get displayed in full on the phone
Why do you still use the name Vivaldi Browser?
Why not just use the name Vivaldi?
Vivaldi is required to be installed by the user before it appears on the phone, and the user knows that Vivaldi is a browser before installing it. Because users don't install apps they don't know what they are.
Since users know that Vivaldi is a browser, they don't need the application name to show Vivaldi Browser either
So would it be better if we remove the Browser word and just show Vivaldi?

@Poto , search only Vivaldi in the network and you see why it's called Vivaldi Browser, Bro..

@Catweazle google play app name doesn't equal with app name show in phone
I mean , it can use vivaldi browser name in play store or anyway.
However, the installed app name does not need to display the word browser
The name of the installed app is independent and may not be common with the name of other channels

@Poto , the same with Opera, Browser is added to avoid confusion since the name itself has another meaning. Worse when you use Chrome, since then it puts Google Chro... if you lack space for the name on your mobile. In mine it simply shows the logo, the name is optional (a Xaomi), which also shows longer names in 2 lines (see if you can do something about it in your mobile settings).
It may be somewhat irritating, but I don't think the team or the Play Store are going to change the name for this. -
@Catweazle Chrome in my phone just show Chrome (OnePlus 3)
I understand what you mean, but my expression may not be clear, so there is a misunderstanding.
I'm not trying to get rid of the name Vivaldi Browser. Just suggesting it could be considered to show only Vivaldi as the name on the desktop.
Imagine that you are the user and you installed Vivaldi yourself, so you know that the Vivaldi you have installed on your phone is the browser. That's what I mean, there is no need to display the Vivaldi Browser, just keep the name Vivaldi.
The desktop name of the application is independent.
Setting a separate, short brand name Vivaldi for the application's desktop name does not actually affect the full name Vivaldi Browser used in other ways; there is no conflict
Here are two images of what a music player is called in Settings - App info and what it is called on the desktop. It is two names, the former is Vinyl Music Player and the latter is Vinyl.
This is not actually a conflict, the user can see the full name Vivaldi Browser in the App info, and what he sees on the desktop can be the name Vivaldi.

As a workaround,
Maybe there's some settings in the Launcher or Pining it. -
@Poto
Hi, I guess it depends on the Android version, the small rectangle is Android 8.1, the whole image is Android 12.
Cheers, mib
