Scroll bar not visible, social.vivaldi.net
-
When I open https://social.vivaldi.net/explore the right hand scroll bar is invisible but functional. It looks like black and black.
I have attached a copy of what I see.
I use Vivaldi 5.6.2867.36 (Stable channel) (32-bit)

@northmadison I think this is not the bug, so much so that if you move the page down with the mouse, it will be visible normally. even if you put it down with the mouse pointer on the scroll bar, it gets almost the same tone, I don't think it's a bug.

Yes, there is a scroll bar there, and you can move the screen with the mouse. You just cannot see the scroll bar and see exactly where to put the mouse. The problem, and the bug, is that the scroll bar graphic elements are black on black. The bug could be in the browser or could be in the web page itself. And it could be bugs in both. I don't know how this works.
Either way, web page or browser, it's a Vivaldi problem. Because it arises from color schemes, it is a visually handicapped discrimination issue and a violation of web standards and EU and US visually handicapped discrimination laws, which require support of "non standard" color schemes which visually handicapped people may need and use.

@northmadison Itβs the same on mastodon.social and if you open the web page in Firefox the style of the scroll bar changes, but itβs still the same colors. This is a Mastodon accessibility issue and should be reported to their Github β https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues
edit: in fact thereβs already a report up for it, you can comment there β https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/19686

@luetage Does the "High Contrast" Mastodon theme work for you - or anyone else for that matter? I tried and don't see much difference to be honest. If it works, how does it actually look?
The Light theme is not much better contrast-wise. I guess they just assume everyone has a scroll wheel on their mouse, so why use the scrollbar, right?

@Pathduck The high contrast theme looks pretty much the same, but the text color is never muted. For reference look at notifications tab with both themes.
