Passwords not syncing after Vivaldi logged out of my profile
-
Windows 10, Vivaldi 5.5.2805.44
I have a profile on Vivaldi with all syncing enabled.
After shutting my computer down yesterday, I started it today to find all my opened tabs in Vivaldi from yesterday closed, saved passwords gone (with one staying from about 3 years ago..), and me being logged out from my Vivaldi profile. I did not check for missing bookmarks or history, but it seems that those had remained.
After successfully logging into my Vivaldi profile, I accessed the sync menu and used the syncing option to sync all my data, and found that everything had synced except for the passwords (Download: Done).
Finding the "Login Data" file in Vivaldi's files, it seems to show that multiple websites where I had saved my passwords are still listed. I created a backup of this file and deleted the original, trying to login into Vivaldi anew and sync again. But still, the passwords I had saved did not sync.
This is a major issue for me since I had been using randomized passwords for dozens of sites (for security reasons), and trying to reset all of these would be a big hassle.
Is there any possible way for me to get my saved passwords back?
(Edit: My saved cookies are also very few, which makes it seem that those also are gone.)

Hi, one user post the same today after a Windows update.
Do you have another device in sync of Vivaldi?https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/81015/all-passwords-were-erased-when-updating-windows-and-restarting

@mib2berlin
Hi!My last two Windows Quality Updates were successfully installed on 10.11.2022:
"2022-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5019959)"
"2022-11 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64 (KB5020687)"No, my Windows PC is the only device where I use Vivaldi.
Edit: I found a System Restore point from yesterday evening, a few hours before I shut down my PC; as far as I remember, all data was working properly then. Would it be wise to reset to this Automatic Restore Point?

If you don´t lost anything important yes.
You should export your passwords to a save place first if they are reachable in Settings > Privacy:Cheers, mib

Exporting passwords only exports the one saved password that had remained after all others disappeared.
After a successful System Restore, the passwords are still gone. I looked into this similarly to the user you mentioned earlier, and it is indeed true that ChromePass finds entries for ALL of my saved passwords, yet the "User Name" and "Password" fields are completely empty. At least I am able to use this to find all sites I had saved passwords and reset them.
Why is such a problem even able to occur? What should I do to ensure something like this doesn't happen again? Right now I am thinking about using KeePass. Would this be a good alternative?

Hello again.
I don't know if this is related to my earlier problem, but Vivaldi has suddenly logged me out of everything again. This time I didn't even close Vivaldi or shut down my computer. A message showed up, saying that Sync was Disabled, and I could find details about this issue in the Sync Settings, yet, accessing the Sync Settings only brought up the Sync section of the settings, allowing me to log back in, with no extra details.
Fortunately, logging in to Sync allowed me to get back synced data, except for the cookies, meaning I had to painstakingly relog into every platform I was l logged in to before.
I am using Windows 10, Vivaldi 5.5.2805.44 at the time of the log-out (about 15 minutes ago)
(5.5.2805.48 as of now)I have Vivaldi only on this single PC.
Since this is the second time an issue like this has happened, I am once again asking for any help in fixing Vivaldi randomly logging me out of my profile.
