Global menu on Ubuntu

Some vertical space is wasted on Ubuntu because Vivaldi is: duplicating window controls and, not putting the menu in the global menu area. It would be great if the visual redundancy was removed like other apps. See attached image. With the Vivaldi native windows controls used the problem with the duplication is not easy to solve. If you use native Windows controls you will avoid it. We will be looking into ways to work around this, but since it also depends on which DE you use it's a bit complicated. But stay tuned, we will be on it!

Thanks for the reply! Using native window mode will put the window controls in the global menu, but not the menus for File, Edit, etc.. so no vertical space is really saved this way.
I know non-gtk apps usually take longer (Eclipse - Java based - took a long time) but I'm delighted to hear you're on it!

@christian it does not depend on DE
