Move spam email to spam folder - does Vivaldi Mail learn?
-
If you move spam emails to the spam folder yourself, will Vivaldi Mail learn and filter similar spam emails automatically in the future?
-
right now probably not
-
@stardepp Vivaldi Mail (built in client) does not at present have learning capacity. This is very complex and touchy software, and has not yet been developed for and integrated in to the Vivaldi email client.

@stardepp Depending on how your email is set up, the following workaround suggested to me, might work for you.
I have a Google email account. Google has excellent filtering (including learning, I think). I forward my filtered email to Vivaldi M3 which cuts down on a lot of junk. In addition, I have started to create my own filters solely based on From criteria for those that slip through. HTH

Hi @mib2berlin Just to be clear, are you saying that if I mark an email Spam in M3, the underlying server (like Google Mail) is learning? How does that help me with junk mail?

@janrif
Hi, they don´t land in Unread but in your Spam folder.
So you see them but they don´t mess up your inbox.
Iirc I had unsubsrcibe my Yahoo account Spam folder for some time, then you don´t even see them.Cheers, mib

Do you happen to know if this works with mail.de as well?
What does this setting mean?
-
@stardepp
I guess the most mail provider support this and mail.de is a big provider in Germany.
The second setting is what we need but it is not clear whether this only works in the web client or also with external clients.
The first setting is a bit nonsense because newsletter and spam actually contradict each other in the sense.
I would disable it and see if your inbox is flooded with spam mails.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Good to know, I will call Mail.de support today and ask about this issue.
