Task Panel – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2805.3

For me, the mail icon is gone from the panel selection. Mail is still there, I have to deselect it from view and add it back though. Once I do that the panel opens, but the Mail icon is still missing from the panel.
-
@n8chavez The Mail Panel is only available in one window.

maybe deeper reading would be in order.
See https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/79579/manifest-v3-webrequest-and-ad-blockers/
Ad Blocking extensions like UBo will stop working when MV3 is implemented.

@Pesala, I'm saying that there is no longer any panel button to open Mail. That was not the case it the last build. Are you saying that there's another button that opens the mail panel other than the mail button? Even when it's selected as a viewable option, the panel button is not there.
-
@n8chavez If you have two or more windows open, the mail panel button will only appear in one of them because the mail client can only be used from the first window opened.
-
@Pesala but that's not the case with me, as I've been trying to say. I have one window open and still the mail button is gone. That was not the case in the last build.
-
@n8chavez Does the Mail Panel have a checkmark beside it on the Panel Toolbar, Context Menu, Panels?
Do you have so many Web Panels that you need to scroll to see them all?

Yes, the checkmark is there.

I have not added any panels. The only ones there are there by default.

Had 8 unread messages, now the body of the messages is empty, need to check if this update was responsible or it was something else, like not a clean shutdown./update: was an issue caused by a flag -

@doctorg: much better for me!
-
@oudstand Does this "better means": usable, fast enough to interact?
-
@DoctorG Yes it's working fine again. Only the notification wont be shown on the icon.
Edit: before this update WhatsApp as panel was unusable for me. I know for others it wasn't that bad.
-
@oudstand Good to read that WhatsApp panel is usable for you now.
In case other users ask about fix for slow WhatsApp panel, we can tell them: try 5.5 Snapshot.

[New][Mail] Import EML, MBOX (VB-89899)
wait, what?
I wonder if it means Vivavaldi will no be able to view EML messages and to display them when they are sent as an attachment ([Jira] (VB-77333) EML format is nto supported when received as mail attachment).
Would be lovely if Vivaldi displayed the message in question before asking about importing it.

[New][Calendar] Add tasks panel (VB-89974)
Good stuff - would be nice if it was not tied to Mail/Calendar functionality though, as I would like to have an easily accessible TODO list without necessarily having it tied to a calendar. If I understand it correctly using it with calendar is optional, no?
I on the other hand would love if this synchronized with Vivaldi Android. Otherwise it is not that useful to me. And if it gets synchronized, this would be lovely to have: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/48523/everything-should-be-a-tab
And sending e-mails about the reminders would be also great: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/54290/are-there-plans-for-email-notification?_=1664356504143
(but I am on stable so I am curious about this feature once 5.5 is out)

-
thanks I was really looking forward for this!

@nekomajin: synced perfectly for me over a standard CalDAV calendar to OpenTasks on the phone (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.tasks). Should work with other apps supporting CalDAV
